Having trouble with dual stack DHCP on my modem so I posted on the TWC forums to see if anyone had run into the same issue since I suspect it's firmware related. Whenever I enable dual stack DHCP on my firewall connected to the modem it throws the modem in a looping reboot cycle until I remove IPv6 DHCP.

The only response I've received so far:

"Paste a traceroute to google"

I really want to slap this person. I can't stand it when people who either didn't read the issue or don't understand the problem think they know what they are talking about and chime in.

so this one time I was hanging out with my friend who is the manager at a tech shop by where I live and a girl comes in and buys a 2tb hard drive. we let her know that we install hard drives for $1 (the cost of the sata cable we use) and she says "just because I am a woman does not mean I cant work on computers" and leaves in a huff. two days later she comes back in saying that the HDD is not working so we take the computer in to look at it, we open it and the HDD is nowhere to be seen, so we ask her where it is. and it turns out that she scanned it and put the scanned image on her desktop to install the drive. and to top that off she threw away the drive she paid almost $200 for and she wanted us to give her a new one.

EDIT: feel free to quote this comment, I like seeing peoples reactions even though the comment is 2+ years old.

Hey,

My friend who was replying to this essentially broke when he read this. You broke his brain. It's why he only replied with I's and I don't have the heart to erase it.

I'm the go-to IT nerd in my school year, and a teacher asked me to set up this wireless pointer thing. Little did they know that due to the administrator set up with the school network, I couldn't install drivers or anything. I've also had OCR Computing teachers perpetuating the MHz myth, and doubling the cores always doubling the speed, but I guess that's because I know much more than I really should for GCSE level.

Main Gaming Rig:

Spoiler

Core i7-4770, Cryorig M9i Cooler, ASUS B85M GAMER, 8GB HyperX Fury Red 2x4GB 1866MHz, KFA2 GTX 970 Infin8 Black Edition "4GB", 1TB Seagate SSHD, 256GB Crucial m4 SSD, 60GB Corsair SSD for Kerbal and game servers, Thermaltake Core V21 Case, EVGA SuperNOVA 650W G2.

Secondary PC:

Oh i have a good one,

this guy was playing battlefield 4, he said he loves this 30 fps as thats the most he would ever need and how the close distance fog makes his game look realistic.

Also saying he has converted his 1080p gaming to 4K using his new 4K tv and how his system is better because a titan has 12gb and his system has 500gb

bloody console peasants amiright?

I must say this is funny thread that I can't believe I have not seen up to now so here are a few experiences for all of you.

Experience one, hearing a person talk about building his own computer and the parts list including an AMD processor, an lga 1150 atx mobo, DDR4, a gtx 960 and a gtx 980, some off brand psu rated for 500 watts, a 6tb WD red and a fractal design core 1000 micro atx. And they were serious too.... I didn't have the heart to let them suffer so I gave them a few pointers.

Experience two, People having me build them a pretty decent computer and they leave it to get packed full of dust even after I instructed them how to clean it every month, the dust was to the point of nearly clogging up a blower style GPU fan.

Experience three, I once met a person who was adamant that you need to change your mobo out if you change single part such as RAM or a GPU.

Experience four, People concerned that word documents take up gigs of space.

There are a lot more things I have heard but typing them up triggers me :p.
