i have a 900D and i promise i'll do a custom loop too when i get the money :P

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Horrible cell phone pic but it's 2-way 980's in SLI. Prior to this, my last SLI setup was 2 x 3DFX Voodoo 2's, which I used to mostly play Quake 2 with. Back in the days when double the videocards ACTUALLY meant double the VRAM!

 

And yes, I realize the red cables are gaudy. Next mod is blue or perhaps white individually sleeved cable set from EVGA.

Two Asus 980 strix, still waiting for Asus to release their ROG sli bridge. I'm leery of the ones from South Korea on ebay.

so you're currently rocking 760s? why choose the lesser of the generation? i'd get a single 980 over two 960s.

I was upgraded via RMA, I sent one of my 760's in and they didn't have any 7xx cards to replace my 760 with. This is how I ended up with the 760's in the first place, I started with 660 Ti SLI.
