Madison reveals experiences working at LMG

Waifu4Life thinks a police report about getting touched at work will do anything. We solved it, no more harassment, the police will figure this out. -
m.2 drive not being recognized by windows installer
connorpiper replied to JensenAvenue's topic in Troubleshooting
If you are just adding this drive to your computer as extra storage, you will need to format it first. To do so search for "Disk Management" in Windows and run that. You should see your drive here if it is installed correctly. Right click the storage of the correct drive > Initialize Disk > Run through the setup processing using the defaults. You may set a drive name and letter. Your drive should appear right away or after a restart. If you are trying to use this drive for the OS, re-seating and checking the pins in the slot would be a good first step. -
Best 13 inch laptop video editing
connorpiper replied to Meeps's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Yea I pretty much thought the same thing. With smaller notebooks the M1 is a great option. Some of the newer 11th gen i7 laptops can come close to the M1 in performance but M1 can do it quieter and for longer. -
Well you should have just used the pre-applied thermal paste, not going to make much of a difference between a more premium product. The load temperatures are what matter, I think it would be better to run something like cinebench to look at temps while that ran. I would go for a reapplication of the cooler and thermal paste if you have much more extreme temperatures during a benchmark. (85c-90c)

I recently bought a XPS 13 9300 and it included a 45W very compact USB-C charger. I have noticed that it takes a very long time for the laptop to charge, which I found funny because the 45W charger should be plenty. When moving the charger last night I almost dropped it because it had gotten incredibly hot while charging the laptop over a couple hours. I don't have anything fancy like a thermal camera but I used a mutimeter to measure the temperature and found that it was getting to 55-62c (130-140f), depending on where the probe was located. I was wondering if this is just a poorly designed charger and others were having the same issue if they also had a similar model. I also have used a M1 Air quite extensively, it also has a similar power USB-C charger included, that is around the same size. It also took a very long time for the laptop to charge, but the actual power supply did not heat up much at all. So I just don't understand what Dell screwed up.

212 Totally. LTT themselves showed that AIOs pretty much have 0 value outside of looks/packaging. The next step up would probably be a Noctua NH-U12S

Which CPU would you choose?
connorpiper replied to Tyler-UAC's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
10900K pricing can make it a serious value. I built a friends computer recently and was able to get a one for $379, which made it a great deal when you included that Intel motherboards are also cheaper right now. Of course money no object the 5900x is a great CPU, plus supports many of the newer features that 11th gen includes now. I don't know what kind of pricing you are able to get through Dell, but I would hope that you would get a discount from going a older CPU like the 10900K. -
Switching between laptop and desktop in one setup?
connorpiper replied to DeagleMaster's topic in Peripherals
Right off the top of my head is a feature of some Dell monitors. It allows you connect two display inputs to the monitor, and one set of KB/Mouse to the monitor. Each computer has a USB connection to the monitor for the USB hub. When you switch inputs the USB hub switches outputs from one computer to the next. EDIT: Found one such monitor with the feature, I'm sure there are more models. https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-ultrasharp-27-usb-c-hub-monitor-u2722de/apd/210-ayzg/monitors-monitor-accessories This monitor also transfers the LAN connection between each PC. -
2.4GHz is the frequency. There are 11 channels on the 2.4GHz radio band in North America. A router should try to chose channels with the lest amount of interference, one laptop could be on one with more interference. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2.4_GHz_radio_use#Wi-Fi Your router settings might give that information, depending on the model.

I know it might not be that helpful, but I used a Discord that notified me of stock updates by ways of their own bot. I was able to complete a purchase and get a 3070 for MSRP. There was about a 30-40min window before stock ran out, but this was B&H, a lesser known retailer for computer parts.

I was not aware of issues, but I went for the 710 because it is lighter. I don't need the RGB, so I'd rather not have it.

Cooler Master MM710 Matte. It was the lightest mouse at the time I bought it. (Not sure if that has changed) Same sensor as the G Pro
