  1. The Pixel 9 Pro seems to be coming in two sizes. Finally!

And I'm glad they will likely stick to their original naming and call the larger model the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

      Thank you.

  2. Has anyone tried Starfield with FSR3? It seems to make the game run worse. Here are my first results:

    FSR 3 w/o FG: ~80 FPS

    Native 4K: ~90FPS

    CAS: 93FPS

    XeSS (Ultra Quality Preset): 100FPS

    XeSS (Quality Preset): 110FPS

FSR 3 w/ FG: 120 FPS (micro stutters and artifacts)

So right now I think I'll just stick to either CAS or XeSS.

Considering the level of effort that has been put into Starfield to this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they're using the original version of FSR 3 rather than an updated one. It seems like the kind of mistake they could make.

The first version was pretty terrible from all of the accounts that I saw online when it was released. Later versions have apparently improved it massively, especially when it comes to micro stutters, although I currently don't own a game that supports it to do any testing myself.

Or it could be an engine issue. I've heard a lot of stuff about things like UI flicker or other glitches when getting a high framerate - which is easier said than done in Starfield from the sound of it.

Maybe when FSR 3.1 releases they'll update it all again? It seems strange to me that the dev team originally were adamant that FSR alone was sufficient, only for them to seemingly neglect the FSR option as soon as DLSS was an option.

  3. Yeah, I wonder how people did that before the internet. I guess there really wasn't any other fucking way.
  4. I received my replacement Dell AW3225QF today and just played Sons of the Forrest in 4K.

On absolutely max settings I get ~ 80-100FPS with a 7900XT and a Ryzen 7 5800X. The game looks phenomenal!

Why are much larger studios so much worse at making well-performing games?

      My Review:

It's pretty awesome! And it's pretty expensive.

  5. Tell me how they're doing that. Yeah no, they don't. They have just as many dumb issues as Windows. For example, did you know that Macbooks have a bug where they won't let you log out of your Apple account? When that happens the only way to fix it is to reinstall the entire OS. Also, I have seen Macbooks refusing to connect to a Wi-Fi network, even tho the same network has previously worked, or sometimes outright refusing correct hotspot passwords. Then there is the general unresponsiveness of M1 Macbooks at startup (I have to deal with that daily), or just general UI bugs that happen when dragging windows around. Oh and the most fun bug ever, tho this has nothing to do with any particular hardware, is when Apple decides that your password is now wrong, even tho you've never changed it and you definitely typed it in correctly, because you copied it out of a password manager, which worked previously. This has happened to at least a few dozen of people that I personally worked with, me included. So yeah, fuck Apple, just like Microsoft, Google and any other big software developer. They all suck ass.
  6. Awesome! My Pixel Watch 2 suddenly only manages a full day of battery life instead of two. I restarted it now, let's see if that fixes it.

It's just a computer. It's not like this doesn't happen on Windows lol

I wouldn't notice, I get like 30 minutes of battery life out of my laptops anyway

many can manage 2 to 4 hrs of light work but push them hard and you'll get a lot less

  7. Does this only happen when a particular monitor is plugged in or does this happen as soon as any 2nd monitor is plugged in? Could you try to plug in only your second monitor and not the first and if the same issue appears?
  8. Thanks, everyone! I got a great deal on a Sony A6000. It includes the 16-50mm 3.5-5.6 kit lens and also the Sony 50mm 1.8 OSS. All of that in its original packaging and for just 450€! Bonus: The seller includes a Sony bag and multiple batteries.
  9. Everything the EU fought for in recent years, that's still missing in the US.
  10. So if I say that they have too much control, then you're automatically assuming they have too much control of everything there is? I guess then they're also in charge of the military, YouPorn, and the housing market.
  11. I said they have too much control, not that they have control over people's buying decisions.
  12. You could've said this during the launch of the iPhone 4. Now it's too late. Apple and many other companies have too much control.
  13. Hey everyone, I think I'd like to get back into photography. I used to have a Sony A6000, but sold it a few years ago, but quite liked it. But since I haven't followed the market in a while I need a few recommendations. I don't want to spend all that much money and definitely want to got for a used camera. Also lenses shouldn't be too expensive either and readily available. I do not want to take any videos and am mostly interested in portrait and landscape photography. I found a Fujifilm X-T1 for less than 250€ and I have to say I'm quite intrigued to buy it, as I like the idea of having a lot of physical controls and of course the styling of the camera is pretty nice. I also wouldn't mind going back to a Sony as my experience was pretty good with the A6000. Any suggestions?
  14. By definition, they don't have a monopoly, neither in hardware nor software. But can we just agree that they're assholes? There should be an anti-asshole law.
