With 4k/8k textures the game will probably fill up 4GB vram in 1080p.

Good thing console potatoes do not do 1080p. lol

Why would he, when he can just sell 300$ spaceships, that can get destroyed after a couple of months. I don't understand, why people are paying so much for this game, especially considering, your ship can go up in flames, so you have to buy a new one (wtf).

One of the lesser gold sinks in the game is insurance, so if the ship gets destroyed you get a new one.

Currently SC is supposed to take up 3.2GB, but part of me is sure that's either a lack of optimization or lack of color compression.

not everyone buys their ships with money. everything can be obtained through playing. also, there is insurance you know, and corporations, that will get you a new ship as a part of your contract, if you lose it

Uhh...no. It's not paid with real money. It's paid with ingame money. A single mission is more than enough to pay for 6 months of insurance.

I fucking love this guy, he's broken every record for crowd sourcing for a video game, and done so while completely ignoring the retarded 2/3rds of the industry.

You should probably learn more about the game before attempting to bash it.

#1 Ships won't be sold once we hit Beta/Launch

#2 Everything will be obtainable with in-game cash

#3 Insurance will be a very cheap in-game cost that everyone should be able to afford.

Lol watch people start complaining about star citizen because it gets delayed because "we are too addicted to upgrading the game and making it look better" xD

we already know this

i believe he publicly said that 3 times including this

Yeah, this.

It's been out there for awhile that he doesn't care for consoles, and that he doesn't care for low end rigs. He's designing the game for the ultimate experience.

Insurance paid with ingame money...

And how is it that different to paying an NPC to repair your gear when you die?

Stay mad PC-only pleb.

Not interested in wasting 400€ on a crappy box then pay 60€ every 12 months for online access and 60€+ for every game then have to deal with sub par performance, sub 60fps and sub 1080p (which is already outdated in the PC world), most of the exclusives are streamline shit for the masses, i'm not missing anything.

Between generic shooters, crap being green lit on Steam, so-so simulators and bad console ports, PC Gaming really needs awesome dedication and fun games. Want a new graphics card, but it's hard to justify something like a flagship currently. More devs should adopt this attitude and start giving a damn about this market more. Of course, this concept is foreign to Ubisoft.
