A tweet from Ubisoft. :P

Dammit Google. We thought you knew better than to support 60 FPS rather than the industry standard of 30.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

Oh lawd! The bandwidth and size of the files doubles at 60fps.

I tried uploading a 2160p 60fps video of Dead Island after they announced 60fps the first time, and it was 54GB in size after compression through handbrake.

Idea: Linus makes a 15+ minute video (compilation?) of about 1-3 minutes each of various frame rates: I.E - a minute (to three) of 5 fps, another 1-3 of 10, etc onwards up to 60.

It will likely a techquickie video which shows all of the differences between the frame rates

Hoping Avermedia will sell a PCI-e capture card capable of doing 1080p@60fps.

Really want to take advantage of this!

Since they are still encoding 720p and 1080p at 30fps as well as 60fps they should have a button to let the user choose if they want 60fps for the video they are watching or not. Unfortunately not everyone has a good enough internet connection to stream 1080p60fps and this will just force Chrome users to use Firefox or IE and I'm sure Google doesn't want that.

They better get it working on other browsers soon, I really don't want to have to use Chrome again.

Can I just turn it off? My internet is wayyyy to bad for 720p at 60fps so I'd rather have it at 30, even better would be 24 tbh. If only I had decent internet.....

[sarcasm]

Yeah but now it's not as cinematic. Can we make it so only videos with a gun in them run at 60fps? If anything they need to be dropped  to 23fps so I can really feel like I'm at the theater.

Works in Safari as well under HTML 5.

It's a beauty, although run it in flash and see if that helps
