I've got XP Pro SP2 or 3 as an install disk with a couple product keys.

The main thing I need is a Win7 install disk and then I can grab a key from somewhere else(probably a system in a scrapyard lol)

You should be able to find Windows 7 ISOs all over the web and burn it to a DVD-R or create a USB install stick.

I've purchased a new curling iron at last... The old wan was broken more than two months ago and it was a real challenge. My new TYME Iron Pro is really better than the old one. It allows forming exactly such locks as I want. It doesn't overheat my hair due to a special surface. Nice purchase, I totally pleased with the recommendation (here) I followed.

Ikea Trådfri colour bulbs coming soon. Anyone have experience with them?

I only use the white ambaince ones as there is a 1000lm one which is much brighter than the usual Philips stuff I have installed. Fairly easy install, no issues with them so far. The only "drawback" over the regular Philips is that they can't do that "fade" effect from 1% to off the Philips do. They simply dim down to the lowest brightness and then go out while the Philips seemingly fade all the way to off. No huge issue, just looks a bit weird if you have multiple of them mixed together in the same room

I might have a lead on a Dell with dual Xeon 5405 processors...and I do have licenses for WIn7 Pro, Vista Ultimate and XP Pro...hrm will update if I buy it  or not.

Quoting myself, update, didn't get the dual Xeon 5405 rig...nope got a dual Xeon 5420 rig...16Gb DDR2 ECC with a 2TB HD and a Quadro FX 4600...nicely loaded. Why build when it comes ready to go? Runs activated WIn10 Pro as well, lucked out big time. Now to find another 16Gb of DDR2 ECC.

1000lm is a nice amount for a proper ceiling light. Shame for the dimming, I guess you get what you pay for vs Phillips hue. But the price difference is worth it.

I got the 600lm colour bulbs, looking forward to seeing how they are.

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

The "dimming" really is a non-issue. They dim down pretty much as low as the Philips do, only the fade-to-off effect is missing. I'd say that hardly justifies double the price tag :D Though the Philips bulbs are okay as well when you get them at a discount. Only the E14 / 'candelabra' style ones are a huge ripoff

I bought a total of 18 19 VHS tapes today!

image0.jpg

Here's the openings to the Twister and Chris Rock tape I got, which for some reason, I didn't take a picture of the Chris Rock tape.

Interestingly with the Twister tape, this is a very odd variant of it. For one, the ink label is printed vertically. Second, all it has, rather than the standard Warner Home Video ink information on the bottom of the cassette, is a sticker with a barcode on it.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

Sweet! Do those automatically adjust? I have a couple old Craftsmen RoboGrip pliers (a 7" and a 10") I gave my late father a few decades ago that automatically adjust to the needed size when you squeeze the handles. I love them but for some reason, Craftsman doesn't make them any more (Craftsman is notorious for discontinung tools) but I believe someone else is making them now.

Knipex is a good brand but their tools are rather pricey.

These do not automatically adjust, you have to push the little button at the pivot point in order to make size changes.

Yeah, $165 for the three sizes. Good tools dont come cheap.

Still sweet.

Talking about good tools, This isn't contractor grade but it's pretty good for a consumer grade. I got a new Ridgid multi-tool head for my Ryobi Multi-tool body. I had to use an Allen wrench to change out the accessories (blades, etc.) on the old one. The new one has a lever for installing and ejecting accessories which will save me a lot of time and agravation when changing out tool heads (I already have the jigsaw, right angle impact, and hammer heads; I'm considering getting the Rotary Spiral cutter head).

This is the head itself:

IMG_0017.thumb.JPG.7b81eddb8e6777e2502cf0d2b903d2d8.JPG

Here, it is installed on the tool body:

IMG_0015.thumb.JPG.dc8302611129a3ef3e68eaf4b097ed0b.JPG

In the past, Ryobi had only two 18v battery sizes: 1.5AH and 4AH.

IMG_0018.thumb.JPG.f416782e7c31c863e7fde16c6cfc6510.JPG

Recently, they came out with 6AH and a 9AH batteries. I ordered a couple of the 9AH batteries:

IMG_0022.thumb.JPG.723c89b3c31de397652fb54670a4acc3.JPG

That bad boy could be useed as a boat anchor (such as the QE2). I'll usee on my thirstier tools, such as my random orbital sander, 5 1/2" circular saw, lanterns, or pole saw. I had thought about using it with my little shop blower but they are a bit heavy for that so I may order a couple of 6AH batteries.

If you think that battery was heavy, check out this bad boy:

IMG_0012.thumb.JPG.e3cb3ea9e6795cfefebf16bac45adbfa.JPG

It's a JBL LSR510S subwoofer. I'm a handicapped senior citizen so getting it into the house and out of the boxes (yes boxes; they were nested) was "fun" (I'm pooped!). This will pair up with the two 5" JBL 5" studio monitors I already have (the bass on them was a tad on the weak side; they kinda lose the bottom end of cellos and much of the double basses). I still have to run the cables before I can try them out but that will keep for a day or two. Since my printer used sit there on top of some small drawers, I need to make a printer stand to suspend the printer over the sub (Home Depot run coming up shortly).

Finally, the good stuff:

IMG_0008.thumb.JPG.d66ea658aa3acc650bd34e713c93c7d1.JPG

I got these to upgrade one of my notebooks from a 500GB spinner with two of them for backups. I'm planning on using that notebook for learning how to use Linux.

Made a little money off some RAM I got for free, thought I'd put it towards finally OCing my 4690k. It'll be my first time trying an overclock and installing a non stock cooler.

Case fan has a damaged box so they threw it in cheap.

Remember me saying in my last post that a Home Despot Depot run was coming up shortly? Big mistake. Besides the quarter sheet of 3/4" plywood, quart of lacquer, furniture glides, old work outlet box, an outlet an outlet cover, 14/2 Romex, and the Dremel flexible shaft I went there for, I also waltzed out with a Ryobi 18v stick vacuum. I wasn't too happy with the Sark vacuum I got around this time last year (too bulky for my overcrowded home) so I thought I would check this one out. I'm too pooped to take pictures tonight.
