I see some chromatic abbaration on the foot, you should edit your photos, it would look so much better 7/10 :) @upliftsleet1974 Where is that? I want to climb it >;D

Eggshell by CaliBudAngel, on Flickr

The place is called MT. Baker. I wish I had the skills to edit my photos well I have Photoshop and lightroom I am just not good with them so I just leave my photos unedited. :(

So I may have a bit too long of a post for rating a photo sorry all.

Liked(Pros)

The concept its something you do not see all the time (Nice job)

Love the background/foreground with all the broken eggshells.

Once again the black and white really makes this photo pop.

The focus over most of the photo looks very nice.

Disliked(Cons)(In all the photos I rate this is were I try to help you and give you the best feedback I can so do not take it as me being a snob take it as me trying to help you)

The focus on the front edge is very distracting.

The stick on the left side is really distracting.(Wish it was not there are in better focus)

Overall the focus on the egg is the deal breaker for me. So 6/10 (If the egg was in better focus you would be looking at an 8 or 9)

I am going to post something other then a photo from my trip (No worries I have a lot more)

Edit: Wow LTT makes the photos so big so you may want to go to my flicker page and look at it also before rating it.

8/10 the wires at the back are a bit distracting, did you make that?

-snip-

I put it together there were a few way that it could be done. Also I had no control over the wires sadly.

8/10 would of look better with a different cap and ring, the colours dont contrast well but the water drops look good in the bottle

Great colour and DOF, maybe a lil' bit of contrast? Just a little?    9.5/10

Hey man,

I don't want to be harsh (and I'm no expert in any way), but I'd say 7.5/10.

The focus is nice, but the texture in the background pulls attention away from the subject. Shooting it from a lower angle (if possible) may have revealed more of the bright mushroom gills, which could add interest to the subject.

B&W is a little tricky since you can't capture differences between colors of the same brightness. You have to think bright against dark or dark against bright when composing the image. You'd surely get the hang of it soon. :)

I like the picture as a whole. Color is nice, and the editing for black and white to color is fun.

But. Clarity is lacking, and focus is... interesting? I'm not sure if it's purely clarity/blur from camera shake or if it's out of focus as well.

6/10

@d3sl91  The original picture is in perfect focus, and i didn't want to make perfect black and white, so i de-saturated some color, not all of them. Also the blur around the flower is a mask i created on purpose, to pop the colors more and create a point of interest there, being the only one in focus. Thanks for the critique :D

I like the background and framing; I am not sure if the lens flare is intentional though. 8/10

Unedited/uncropped film scan from over a decade ago:

<snip>

I kinda love the over saturation in this, it gives the old-school effect that it needs. 9/10, the white spots in the top-left are distracting.

I'm no photography pro but I'd give yours a 9/10. I love the colours, not too saturated either, and it's perfectly in focus. It would be a 10/10 if there was a little bit going on in the foreground.

Photo is nicely exposed and the depth of field/ focus is done well. Only thing which would improve the photo would be to make sure the horizon line is flat. It looks like the photo is sloping to the left.

Well here is one from myself. It is from my friends band (Actions to Onslaught) at their album release party!

The DOF is really nice, some more focus on the lower part of the flower would make it perfect, and the lack of the white one in the background. 8.5/10

I like the angle, good so you can see the mountains, ocean, sky and bridge all at once. I do think it could of been cropped a bit better (like take out some more of the sky). Other than that, good job. 7.5/10

7/10, I would've much rather seen a full colour or even spot colour and you should have used the spot healing tool for the spots on the flower.

7/10 too centered for my taste, and could use a lil bit of de-noise and more contrast.
