Do you let your kids play mobile games?
upliftsleet1974 replied to Beowulff83's topic in Mobile Gaming
My cats can not seem to hold the phone and quickly lose any interest in mobile gaming. They do however like playing with the google home when you ask it to play cat noises. -
how much do you approximatly spend a year on gas?
upliftsleet1974 replied to echy's topic in Off Topic
TLDR: I spent around $2,291 on gas for my car alone last year (Not counting my wifes). I drive around 20k-30k a year sometimes a little more. I currently get around 30mpg in my Subaru with gas hanging out around $2.75ish average in my area. This last year I drove around 25k miles. 25,000 divided by 30mpg is 833.3 gallons of gas in the past year. 833.3 x 2.75= $2,291 in the past year. -

Screen protector on a touchscreen laptop?
upliftsleet1974 replied to upliftsleet1974's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Well I guess you guys are helping me reinforce my gut feeling of skipping the screen protector. Are laptop touchscreens usually glass of some sort? I would assume so but really have been lacking in my knowledge of laptop screens. -
Hello everyone it's been a long time since I've been on the forums. I did try searching for this topic prior to posting however I couldn't find anything. (I probably didn't do it right so my apologies.) I just ordered up a Matebook 13 and it's my first ever touchscreen laptop. I had never even thought about a screen protector for a laptop prior to seeing it pop up as a suggested item at checkout on Amazon. My question for you guys is should I get a screen protector or pass on it? Thanks in advance for your feedback and time!

Oldie but was a goodie till I got greedy

Is reinstalling windows completely out of the picture? Maybe disconnect your drive and attempt starting the process of a reinstall to see if it will even post into a windows install. -
Buy a 1080 ti strix for 400 usd or wait for a 2080?
upliftsleet1974 replied to IAnthonyFX's topic in Graphics Cards
1080ti for $400 seems good to me, I like getting stuff as newer stuff is about to come out. -

Oh, my bad sorry. Sounds like booting into safe mode is by far the best action at the moment. If that goes nowhere then time for a new course of action. -
Photoshop Requirements.
upliftsleet1974 replied to Soarinex's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
That system is starting to get pretty dated. It really depends on what you are doing with photoshop and what your standards are for the running of photoshop. Overall that will run the program fine I just want to stress the fact I think you could see some limitations depending on the workload intended. I think for your school work tasks that should be plenty. -

Any luck booting into safe mode? Maybe take the GPU out and see if it will boot? That way you can confirm its a GPU issue? -
Rate the Photo Above you
upliftsleet1974 replied to Blade of Grass's topic in Photography and Videography
The photo is quite vivid and I really enjoy the colors. In some ways seems a little overwhelming but that may just be me. 7.5/10 Taken on a Sony a6300 with kit 18-55 lens -
My motto is any job is a good job. Employers like to hire people who have a history. Getting experience in the workforce is worth working for very little money. I currently paint houses 6 days a week and the 7th day I am an EMT on an ambulance. EMS is the job I want but I do not have the experience or qualifications to do it full time so I work what I can. It's all about the experience.

As the title says I am looking into this career path and was wondering if any members on here are currently Paramedics? What are your thoughts about someone 19 going to paramedic school? I am currently an EMT and my family has been in the business for as long as I can remember. I do work part time on an ambulance as an EMT and love it to death (No pun intended) Thanks in advance! (I hope this is an allowed post. Its been almost a year sense I have logged on.)
