Rate the Photo Above you

Yep, it was of a mate. I have no idea how I'd do a selfie with my own camera without using a mirror.

Take a look at the Canon 600D/650D/700D. They have a moving/pivot screen, that you can flip out and turn around, and using live view you can take a selfie :3. I'll post one taken this way to show you. @TheProfosist post a picture for me to rate, because you rated the fire one.

How did you do that?

Lit my hand on fire lol. I use some zippo lighter fluid on my hand and set my camera on a 10sec timer to take 6 pictures. It took a good 10 or 15 tries of setting my hand on fire before I got the shot I liked. My hand was on fire for around 2 seconds each time and then I would dunk it in a bucket of water.

The 60D has it too. The only thing i don't like about the 50D is the CF card :(

Personally I love the subject! Focus and all that jazz looks good, so 10/10

I agree with that. 16:9 pretty much doesn't exist in the DSLR market. My camera is a 3:2 aspect ratio (6000px*4000px)

I like fire... hehe. If only I had my 35mm F/1.8 when I took this shot! Sadly it hadn't arrived yet :(

With most dslr's and mirrorless cameras you can set custom aspect ratios and resolutions. My 600D can do 16:9 4:3 3:2 and 1:1 I think.

I like my 600D and use that a fair bit. I just wish it was a 70D though. :)

Yes it can do all those aspect ratios. And i love my 600D too, it's so close to the 60D i can't believe. Even to the 7D :)

Here, second hand, the 70D is 3 times more expensive than what i paid for my 600D body..

As this topics is a mess now with all the random posts I am just going to rate the last photo that followed all the rules.

Liked(Pros)

The lighting.(Time of day)

The focus on the fire.

The sparks flying.

Disliked(Cons)

The background.(Very distracting)

The framing.(The fact that the fire pit is not flat and that the top of the fire is not in the photo)

Overall 7.5/10

My photo is once again 100% unedited.

CF: MOAR FPS!!!

Unless you have a D800E. Then you just sit there wondering why you thought 36mp was a good idea. But when you edit its amazing. But then you realize you just burned 5 16GB cards in a day and you have to sort and store that crap somewhere.

This be an expensive hobby.

8/10 the wires at the back are a bit distracting, did you make that?

Insect on Flower by CaliBudAngel, on Flickr

Liked(Pros)

The color is fantastic.

The focus on most of left flower is great.

For the most part the framing is good.

Disliked(Cons)

All the empty space above the flowers.

The focus is really off on the right flower.

Overall 8/10

Got this photo at 4:45am on my way to the summit of MT. Baker :)

My photo is once again 100% unedited.

Nice photo 8/10 there's not much to see other than that horizon, have you got a shot that has the sun in it?

_MG_0844 by CaliBudAngel, on Flickr

Nope none with the sun in it :(

liked(Pros)

The back and white really works.

The focus seems good.

I like that most of the background is black.

Disliked(Cons)

The flower is to centered for my taste.

The stuff on the right side of the photo is a bit distracting.

Overall 8.5/10
