Oh shit it's over now? Guess I can reel the Mac Mini in a little bit so it's not sitting at 75-80C with the fan rippin (still very quietly but). It would be nice to be able to use it again and not have to think about my PPD tanking since it was the only thing I had running for the entire event. 🤣

My folding computer is my everything computer. I folded every day of the competition, with only my 7900 XTX and Ryzen 5800X3D. Price to folding performance AMD can't beat NVIDIA CUDA. My GPU was often sitting at less then 70% utilization and I can tell with my power monitoring. Full system load I am using 700W but much of the time I was sitting at 500W. Still I got more points this year then last year with my 3070Ti. I have passed 1 billion on F@H and 800 Million for LTT_Team. My winter hasn't been as cold this year so I needed to open my window a few times to let in the 34-28F outdoor air. My cats love when I leave the windows open. I made it to page 4 on the Extreme Overclocking Member List Ranking this year from page 5 last year. I look forward to hitting a billion on LLT_Team!

I didn't realize how much of a difference the servers were making in my basement. All last month it was 72 freedom degrees down there. I shut down yesterday evening, now it's 64 degrees.

Yup.. I had to turn the heater on in the house today.

Not much of a Gamer….. But I have thing about F@H that may be a little over the top.   See my builds here

Well we shall see. Judging how slow games etc are from the video. Not necessarily very good…but could be fast just hard to tell till f@h gets their hands on one to develop an instance for.

Very VERY VERY slowly, if this is an indication there is no reason to port the client yet.

https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/compare/486460?baseline=3427851

Its closer to an Intel Atom E3930 and probably similar power consumption too:

https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/compare/3883644?baseline=3427851

Its also about ~1/8 the performance of a Steam Deck at best, in some tasks the gap is an absolutely chasm.
My guess would be those tasks would need optimised RISC code whereas on x86 they would be using bespoke CISC instructions.

https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/compare/3890374?baseline=3427851

Its made huge progress in a relatively small amount of time though.

I don't think either support RISC-V anyway so performance would be zero/math error

I think the top 10 should get special badges marked "you crazy fools" or something. 😛

This makes me kinda sad but were back to gas heating as it should be a LOT cheaper (and quieter):
