So? What do you expect us to do? There's no secret magic spell that'll convince your parents to relent. Parenting isn't universal and you're not entitled to any specific parenting style.

This is something that i hope our members don't advocate for....

Also OP, if it's just for homework, why do you need to used your new PC?

Use the chrome book otherwise you're liable to get distracted

There's not much we can do to override parental authority. You'll have to negotiate with them.

Why did they let you build one? Perhaps ask them about it some more.

Any parent would immediately deduce that there's a solid chance of intentionally breaking stuff if that Chromebook mysteriously "breaks" just after having built a new PC that you aren't allowed to use for homework because Chromebook works fine. The little urchin would definitely not see that PC post any sooner in that scenario if it was up to me.

Not if you set up your parents to break the chromebook for them 🤔

I love PC building and gaming.
REMEMBER botttlenecks can happen at all points of a PC part. Make sure you are at equilibrium. For all parts unless you intend to upgrade at a later point. Also QA Tested AAA Games.

(To me) Sounds like mom and dad was told by you it was needed, found out it wasn't needed and realized they got suckered - Hence the restriction on it.

Good luck with that.

So you built a PC and they won't let you use it at all ?

Or do you have to do your homework first & then you can use it ?

Who paid for the PC? You or your parents?
Unless your homework require specific softwares, that chromebook is more than enough. You lied, they mad at you for it. Consequences~

by playing with the rules made by someone else you will never win, I should have done it first

Also, schools using chromebooks and giving students' data to Google without their consent is utter disgusting. Taking advantage of kids and teens, how low of someone to do that, ugh.

I would argue agents that.

nope google classroom and google meet.

problem is most (educational) chromebooks are locked down to the point where if you want to do something like you suggest you would need to reinstall the OS but it bricks all the school stuff you need plus most acess to a school network

Get A+ in all your classes, then find a computer skill you want to learn that isn't gaming & beg to take classes out of school and that you want to practice on the computer at home and that they can watch what you've been learning in the class.

You prolly won't be gaming so..... Yeah
