So I have been really sick for 3 weeks and not really reading much of the threads. Is there any way for me to join the event late, with a penalty even if required? I put up about 17M PPD, but uh... I was too sick to even see this event had started.

Intel 10900X and 10850KA. NVIDIA 3090FE and EVGA 3090 K|NGP|N Hydro Copper. 196GB RAM. 2x Corsair AX1200I power supplies, $6K in Corsair Hydro-X Custom cooling all wrapped up in a Phantex Enthoo Elite dedicated to supporting F@H (User ID PEZUI on team LTT! 223518)

I'm sorry but we are unable to accept late entries for this event

That's really unfortunate but I understand. The crazy thing is that Covid got me into folding with LTT back in 2020 when things really hit the fan. Over the past 2 years I put a lot of hardware into focusing on trying to work on many of the diseases and things putting up just under 9B points, parking me in 7th place on the team and 194th place for all users. I also managed to wear a mask get my vaccination shots etc. and generally avoid being sick during that time period. On Oct 9th my work had a mandatory in the office meeting, 2 days later I came down positive covid and ended up really sick. My health has since returned and things have turned around, it just sucks I missed the notification while the thing I was working to help solve put me out during the same time window.

480 just crashed 3 times during a WU and then lost all progress when submitting.

Diver update underway, hopefully that helps.

It's not dead, but it's approaching Black Knight territory.

Running at VERY STOCK settings

Need some quick hardware advice. I have a 5600x and a evge 3070ti folding right not and I have a pny gtx770 I want to add in to get a few more points. But I only have a 750w power supply is it safe to add the 770?

It should be fine as long as you have enough PCIE power connectors. Though depending on specifics of the PSU like age and quality, YMMV.

Not sure about you're specific hardware but from what I know of folding on a 3080 and a GTX 760 it should be alright. Just keep in mind though how much less efficient the 7 series will be. It will take up at least an extra 100-150W.

Also keep in mind that if these cards are in a conventional computer case, your 3070Ti will now have less access to more air (If air cooled, and if 770 is placed below it). If ventilation is good it shouldn't be a problem, but a few well-placed fans can be a big help if temps get too high for your liking.

Be sure to cut back power limit on both cards if you can though, it's pretty common knowledge here that 30 series are unaffected when folding at 70-80% power limit.

Definitely a good idea to monitor power draw (ideally from hardware like a UPS or a killowatt, but also software like HWInfo) to see what's going on with the whole system. Just be sure to check on it frequently until you're sure it's all good.

Not sure if you're folding on the CPU either but if you run into issues I advise not bothering with CPU folding.

The way I see it, great opportunity to compare temps and find out safely.

Kind of a disappointing start to folding month for me. I had everything basically fully functional and ready to go for the event, and everything seemed to be working over the past couple weeks. No power supply issues, only a couple random crashes (both of which seemed to be solved), and no motherboard or GPU failures. However, it's only the start of day three and I've already had two machines crash entirely, one machine randomly reboot (still need to figure out why it rebooted at all), and one GPU not doing any work.

As of right now I have everything mostly back up and running, but my quad GPU system is starting to crash again. That's annoying since this machine gets a good amount of my daily points (Quadro M4000, Quadro P4000, RX 580 4GB, RX 580 8GB). I'm trying to get it back up and running now, but if it crashes again I'm going to have to look at splitting these GPUs up and moving them into different systems. Finding enough room for these in other systems is going to be a challenge, so I'd rather not have to do that. I'd honestly rather just replace the motherboard in the machine I'm currently using. They're cheap on eBay...

So, I'm just disappointed. I probably won't get very many points today unless I can get these machines to stay running. I still have another RX 580 that I need to add to a system, so that should help out a little bit once I get it going. It's also disappointing that this is happening right now because I'm so close to hitting 1 BILLION points today. According to F@h Stats I'm roughly 3.5 million points away, and I don't want the graph to dip down on the day I hit such a neat milestone.

TL;DR: At least four of my GPUs have gone down today and another system is still crashing at random. I'm also hours away from hitting one billion points for the LTT team.

Phobos: AMD Ryzen 7 2700, 16GB 3000MHz DDR4, ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 8GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070, 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT 1030, 1TB Samsung SSD 980, 450W Corsair CXM, Corsair Carbide 175R, Windows 10 Pro

Polaris: Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2, 32GB 1600MHz DDR3, ASRock X79 Extreme6, 12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, 6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 1TB Crucial MX500, 750W Corsair RM750, Antec SX635, Windows 10 Pro

Pluto: Intel Core i7-2600, 32GB 1600MHz DDR3, ASUS P8Z68-V, 4GB XFX AMD Radeon RX 570, 8GB ASUS AMD Radeon RX 570, 1TB Samsung 860 EVO, 3TB Seagate BarraCuda, 750W EVGA BQ, Fractal Design Focus G, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

York (NAS): Intel Core i5-2400, 16GB 1600MHz DDR3, HP Compaq OEM, 240GB Kingston V300 (boot), 3x2TB Seagate BarraCuda, 320W HP PSU, HP Compaq 6200 Pro, TrueNAS CORE (12.0)

Help!

image.png.e3de34a21a892953a7f6b4e4e1f2a415.png

The 3060 in my Razer Blade is suddenly disabled again. It used to be like that before, but then suddenly fixed itself.

I've now set it to Nvidia GPU only in the Nvidia control panel instead of Nvidia optimus, and according to task manager it's running and the Intel iGPU is disabled.

I always love how F@H WU servers and calculation seem reliable and consistent until we're in an event and then I'm like... WTF when looking at EOC saying that out of 11 devices only 1 recorded a work unit in a 3 hour window which is impossible.

To be fair, I noticed that glitching before the event started.

So I'm not the only one with Ellesmere cards crashing. 1355mhz was rock solid stable for a whole month and then the event started and it started flinging errors and crashing.

Now at basement stock settings and the newest driver it seems to be significantly better.
