I resent the fact I'm throwing away 4m points by sleeping.  Then again, after a day of folding my room reaches optimal temp, would get too hot if I didn't cool it down again overnight, so.....

 

As for AMD, I'm just really curious what an RDNA3 Steam Deck can do.  That I can't wait to see the "fake frames" brigade take on AMD adopting the same technology.

 

Some people just can't seem to understand that the point is if to get the graphical settings you want only nets you 60fps, a small latency hit can be worth it to reach 120fps of fluidity.

I find that fascinating, your room takes over a day to reach a steady-state temperature when Folding?

Is there anything I can do to avoid getting 3-day WUs on my CPU?

The problem is I don't think it reaches steady-state, it would just keep going up.  Its really strange as if its windy it cools down fast, but when its not it seems well insulated.

Try reducing the number of threads?  Is it on the Ryzen?  If its using SMT it may be slowing it down.

I use Process Lasso to use only 8 threads locked to specific cores on my 5950X (though in my case that is mostly due to making sure it doesn't jump between CCDs as well as locking just one F@H thread per REAL CPU core).

Absolutely fascinating! It will reach a steady-state at some point, but my inner engineer is now obsessed with the heat transfer attributes of this magical room

Especially given how cold it can be around the ankles while being stupidly hot at ceiling level.  Its not like the ceiling is insulated.  I do have a lot of stuff around the perimeter, due to having too much stuff and trying keep my ankles from freezing.

It is an insulated cavity (outer layer of brick, inner layer of cinderblock) wall though, which somehow doesn't stop it getting too hot in the summer.  Its definitely magical in all the wrong ways.

The PPD that the top 3 are putting out are mind boggling!

I got hold of a friend's AIO with an i5-1135G7 and no dGPU, it's going along swimmingly with 110k PPD @35W. Comparable power draw and efficiency to @BondiBlue's GT 1030! My laptop reported 150k PPD at 35W yesterday, but because it's a 3 day WU and I need to use my laptop for other things quite frequently (including unplugged), that will probably never be achieved.

even though I missed folding month due to illness, I am going to fold hard. I found a little bit more hardware and I want to see if I can hit 20M PPD.

Hi, is the folding badge based on the points gathered during the event? Or are the points accumulated from before the event is considered?

There are multiple sheets, one for each day. Are you looking at the day3 sheet?

The level badges are based on total accumulated points. The event points are based on participation in the events.
