what is your 2990wx doing PPD wise? my 3960x does about 600~650K on a 4.4Ghz all core oc. 

I gotta say this still blows my mind considering back in 2015 when i got into F@H i was doing 60K PPD on a 750Ti

I think Igor_Sinelnikov might have some plans for folding month. Either he's testing a bunch of mercenaries or got a truck load of 4090's with the points he's suddenly outputting. 20mill in the last update alone and 52mil for the day already.

I can confirm you did...I will also state we have a few people with bad folding names/haven't folded with LTT we will be reaching out to those users.

It seems as I'm actively using the 12700F machine that assigning 8 cores was a bad move as other applications I am using are sharing P cores, slowing it down.

 

Switching it to six threads dramatically increases the PPD, although its confused right now as it jumped to 2955K which is just "a little" more than seems feasible.

 

Okay its settled at 262K now which is almost as high as 8 threads on the 5950X, that seems more realistic.

 

 

RTX 3080 running at 90% TDP, RTX 2080 running at 72% TDP.

 

Switched core affinity so FahCore_a8.exe is only using CCD0 and FahCore_22 is using CCD1.

I got my setup going again, I recently upgraded my unraid server to a 5900x so I figured I can put it to good use.

 

Also it seems that GPUs barely get points. I have a 970 sitting on my table that I thought about throwing in the server for folding, but my 2080 + 8700k get only a fifth of the ryzen's points by itself.

 

Any tips on maximizing folding capabilities while ensuring it doesn't interfere with regular server activity?

some wu on cpu. will hog gpu wu. that will need a little bit of cpu.

Keep a few threads unoccupied for CPU, GPU shouldn't be too affected.

Personally I would leave 4 threads(2 real cores& 2 ht cores) avaliable on the 8700k but even then the cpu can still hurt the gpu perf. I would recommend experimenting also make sure to change team to 223518 you are currently folding for default (0) and if you haven’t set up the passcode there is a link to the guide on the fist post of this thread.

I signed up for the event with my forum name, and then remembered that I used a different name in the past, so I think I may have signed up for the event twice. sorry:(.

 

I did get the passcode and team set up. so I think I am almost setup for a good 24/7 operation. It seems like the D@H docker is good at giving up resources, I was able to watch a movie on plex while it was running with no problem.

I vaguely remember now that he mentioned during a previous event that he doesn't use mercenaries. Wonder if he did some mining, and is just repurposing his ming rigs to folding. that would explain the qtys, and if I'm remembering about him not using mercenaries. Or he is just a pc hardware enthusiast, that likes to collect hardware. I have that problem myself, and should have sold off hardware when prices were high.

That has to be bottle-necking the 2080 on the CPU, on half a 5950X I get 332K while the 2080 gets nine to ten times that.

Yea I think there is some problem with the configuration.
