Well this is confusing, TechPowerUp claims the A770:

FP16 (half) performance:    34.41 TFLOPS (2:1)
FP32 (float) performance:   17.20 TFLOPS
FP64 (double) performance:  4.301 TFLOPS (1:4)

Which can't be right.  Also seeing claims the A380 can almost match the 4090 in FP64, very confused.

Is this a case of FLOPS not comparable between architectures?

With Ampere NVidia just kind of started making up numbers for FP throughput. Turing and earlier the FP Numbers on TechPoweredup are comparable but Definetly NOT between Turing and Ampere. If you believe NVIDIA's FP32 numbers then Ampere would have been massively more performant. I think AnandTech did discuss this and other sites. Something to do with including the theoretical compute capacity of Tensor Cores which can't be used for Computational Loads.

So I've been folding all day, and I managed to complete one WU. I should have gotten 1M+ for the LTT team, and yet it only displays 200K as being earned. Am I not understanding something, or have I been chipped of my points..?

The amount of points you get from a WU depends on fast it's completed. Also PPD≠Points from a day-long WU. it's just an average amount that you're likely to get per day (on average). Sometimes you get more, sometimes less and sometimes none at all.

I'm asking because I overclocked CPU but the ETA didn't change.

I don't actually know. But the others here might.

well my points per day seem to be higher than before so maybe, but I know it isn't recommended since the components are being used for a prolonged period of time

yes, overclocking will usually result in a higher amount of points per day, and thus a higher amount of work per day.

Usually not recommended though, especially since CPU PPD is already marginal compared to GPU. So why wear out your chip for minimal gains?

GPU overclocking can result in quite substantial PPD wins though.

Did you also remember to get a Passkey, that perfectly flat 200,000 looks suspiciously like a base credit total. A Passkey- allows your points to be tracked for the competition, and you get bonus points relative to how quickly ahead of max time you complete a WU.

well, I ran into a situation of ETA being lower than my CPU's designated time to complete the job.. so I turned on  my Jet engine

I took a screenshot of the first WU render I completed, and I'm gonna have it framed.

what the jet engine?

Since I have stock CPU cooler I figured I should up the curve to 80% at minimum + all chasis fans running at 100%

@cbigfoot

Will you be doing the points validation for this event?

I remember you were having difficulties validating the points of one user that shall not be named, you know its only going to get worse 😉

I guess we need to come up with a solution if the issue gets worse.

Hahaha I like it, that would actually solve the issue for now.

HOWEVER, this issue will likely persist into the future and effect more users, so I'm going to have to decline your generous offer in the hopes of finding a more permanent solution 😂
