I resent all of that.. but its true... I leave the competitive FPS games to the kids these days.

I was a 2D kid with a 3D future, I lived through all the (consumer) 3D accelerators thus far...
486DX2/66 at home,...Doom2 at School with 10-12x PCs in LAN at Lunch is probably what started it all...

 

I also eventually had a 486DX100 at a higher clock using Motherboard Dipswitch FSB overclocking. a printed outline of CPU Multiplier x CPU Bus SPD on PCB with switches to change it up.

I replaced peoples dying parts (only because I wasn't as scared to handle tech after reading instructions), used addin cards (Serial/Com1/2/Parallel) to get around broken ports on user motherboards, and thus all started my gathering of technical knowledge going forward into my teens... when 3D really kicked into high gear.

I then had a work experience situation from school,.. at a computer store right when 3DFX launched the Voodoo2, best two weeks of that year.

Powerslide (AU Game) let me enable basic 3D on my S3 Virge DX/GX (D3D Basic AF HW)
