The Witcher 3 GTX 780Ti Could Push 35-45 FPS At Max? this is a next gen game!!

If it is up to Gametechs claims then The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be a harsh on the GPU title, so much that One 550 USD GTX 780 Ti already has a hard time to keep up with the game engine, under the condition that higher levels of AA are enabled. The website mentions that the PC version runs HQ and 8xMSAA at 35-45fps on a GTX 780Ti at 1080p.

Naturally, a single 780Ti is able to hit the 60fps sweet spot in its current form provided MSAA is lowered. It is said that the PS4 version will run at 900p/30fps while the Xbox One version will run at 720p/30fps. What's also interesting is that the console versions of the game will meet the minimum graphics settings of the PC version. Gametech claimed that The Witcher 3 on consoles will look similar to The Witcher 2.

You can still manage WAY better than any console with the rig in your sig, you just might have to turn off the "ubersupermegadoubleresolutionsampling of doom" options. ;)

i <3 how studios can optimize for 512mb of ram and a 1gb GPU chip... cant optimize on any level for 8gb RAM or 2gb+ GPU.

PC gamers are always getting shafted. My cynical guess is the game will be very poorly optimised.

I just ordered an r9 270x :'(...  Maybe Mantle can help if it is supported?

I cant expect the consoles to run that much frames at ultra or even medium.  However, if they can that gives allot of hope for Mantle.

But I wont be playing the witcher...

yes I will

People stop complaining about not being able to max out a game because you don't have a really high end card. Just turn down settings like people used to do 10 years ago when you had to read the system requirements on the back of the box to see if you had a good enough PC.

Just take it as a bonus that you could play it again with a new PC and appreciate it in more detail another time round.

This seems a little ridiculous. A game that current HIGH END hardware can't push effectively, isn't a good thing...

They're just going to push people away,
Games like this cause higher resolutions to not be available to most, and cause people to crank their settings way down, just to hit good FPS.

Either this game needs some optimization (probably), it needs to be reevaluated, or both.

It was pretty much the same way when Witcher 2 was released. I couldn't run it everything maxed out with a 2600K and two HD6970s at 2560x1600. Had to turn off ubersampling and lower a few other settings. The game still looked gorgeous. With my current rig (4770K and two R9 290Xs) I can finally run it with ubersampling enabled :)

35-40 fps max settings w/8 msaa is similiar to what you would probably get with a 780ti on Crysis 3, just switching to 4x msaa i can run around 75fps and at 2x ~100fps. This is a Next-Gen AAA title and imo its a good thing that theyre pushing gaming hardware to its limits, otherwise why would hundreds of people like you and me shell out the cost of an entire rig on a single gpu? Not to mention the Witcher 3 is coming out in February 2015 and the new Maxwell cards will be out by then.

In game development, optimization is usually pretty late to be worked on. Considering the game isn't due to be released until early 2015 I'd say there is plenty of time for further optimization. However this is hardly a new thing. 8xMSAA will kill GPU's always. I expect with AA off or lowered a 780ti will be easily capable of 60+ fps, even before optimization.
