The Witcher 3 GTX 780Ti Could Push 35-45 FPS At Max? this is a next gen game!!

Of course it will run like that with 8xMSAA.(Try to run Crysis 3 maxed out with 8xMSAA)
I bet with 4xMSAA or 2xMSAA it will run over 60FPS on a GTX780ti.

Nobody runs 8xMSAA. Seems like the game runs similar to crysis 3.

People stop complaining about not being able to max out a game because you don't have a really high end card. Just turn down settings like people used to do 10 years ago when you had to read the system requirements on the back of the box to see if you had a good enough PC.

Just take it as a bonus that you could play it again with a new PC and appreciate it in more detail another time round.

I think the point of spending thousands is to play on ultra...

Looks like I may need crossfire.  :D

I'm sure performance will get better as the game comes closer to release, and better drivers are released.

Wasn't it Ubersampling that really killed the performance on the last one, and with it turned off you got a huge boost right?

Does the game also have ubersampling like The Witcher 2 has? If it does and with every on max + ubersampling a GTX 780ti gets 35-40fps then I am quite glad. It means my card could get around 45-50 with no AA, no ubersampling.

Aw thanks :D

Yeah I bought em in February of last year, there was no 700 series then.

Not to get off topic, but thinking about how old those are... Titans have aged better than any other card in my recent memory. They're hardly any newer than my 670's and the Titan is still almost at the top...

why are they using 8x MSAA when 4x TXAA exists ?

Computer users fall into two groups:
those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail.

This seems a little ridiculous. A game that current HIGH END hardware can't push effectively, isn't a good thing...

They're just going to push people away,

Games like this cause higher resolutions to not be available to most, and cause people to crank their settings way down, just to hit good FPS.

Either this game needs some optimization (probably), it needs to be reevaluated, or both.

They aren't forcing people to run the game at max detail settings. It's simply there for the people who have PC's that can run that sort of detail.

As for as pushing people away, I don't see that being an issue with such a huge title.

This is exactly how I see it.  The guys at CD Projekt Red have publicly said, many times, that PC is the ideal gaming platform, and they know what there are a ton of enthusiasts out there.  They don't want to water anything down for the sake of letting everyone run it on Ultra, they want to allow for maximum visual quality that can be created right now, and that requires power.  Crysis 3 still destroys graphics cards on Ultra settings, especially at higher than 1080p resolutions, but not many people call it poorly optimized.

It was amazing for the time it came out. It was released in 2011 and still looks better than some games today.

Why is this news?

If I run with 8xMSAA on any modern, good looking game it'll kill my FPS... what a redundant article.

  • 2 months later...

ubersampling too?

8X MSAA is very close the rendering equivalent of Ubersampling but without the ENB(Skyrim Mods) like effects, I assume there will be a separate setting for the ENB like effect of Ubersampling if they are using 8X MSAA as a replacement for Ubersampling.

4X or 8X MSAA looks better, but I would hope that they include many AA options, Crysis 3 had MSAA, FXAA, TXAA, and SMAA options and I think one more.
