LTT vs GN go!

I feel like nowadays, LTT is more for entertainment on technology and GN is more technical on technology. Can't really go and say Company X vs Y here...

I mean, they both provide tech YouTube videos, but have very different audiences and scopes of coverage. GN is a technical perspective on tech, LTT is more entertainment/lifestyle.

I like the depth of GN but at the same time its hard not to fall asleep while listening.

Both, since they're nothing alike generally.

 

GN is for in depth tech analysis and reviews.

 

LTT is a lighter analysis, and entertainment, and watching linus break shit.

LTT Videos: Clickbait for 14 year olds who think using the word "extreme!" is edgy.

GN Videos: Everything you never wanted to know about how the rivets were put on on a case you have no interest in, and will never buy.

GN seems way more in depth, IMO the golden era of LTT was 2017-2019 when they didn't have "bruh hey look at this monitor this company sent me wow it's expensive I'm getting paid to say this" and it was more, "how does this hardware perform". LTT's older videos were quite helpful for me getting into computers but now that I know more I usually go to GN.

While GN is more technical and really good at it than LTT there is something with the way Steve talks that I just can’t stand.

I listen to GN videos while driving to work on occasion. These days I don't watch many LTT videos, and that's for a variety of reasons. The only piece of LTT content I regularly watch/listen to is the WAN Show. I also listen to that while driving to work.

Pretty much same, I often have WAN show on in the background while setting up for a video, or working on some tedious project.

Thankfully, they always do a great job of setting chapter markers, so skipping around to only the things that interest you is super easy.

GN provides meaningful information that's highly vetted and follows standard scientific procedures. LTT is sad shell of tech channel propped up by outlandish clickbait and misinformation.

on scientific side. no.

he is on a shoe string budget. out sources more stuff he does not know to others.then package the info up and tells you(tends to get stuff wrong some times.)

he knew nothing on  aio science  stuff.  he admitted that in a second video and a rant on twitter. wont bother to update or let anyone know about that.

end of day no one else really wants to do what he is doing. which in turns bad from a science stand point. seeing when your the only one doing it... that simple not how you do proper research works .

 

 

i already did napkin math with stuff he mention wanting to buy etc.

 

up front cost  for the stuff itself is half a mill. then building/renovated for it costly.

Honestly surprised this thread survived.  Offered a poorly thought out "question" trying to compare two completely different things with no thought or meaningful ideas brought to the table. 

 

Both channels serve different purposes and cannot be compared.

What's funny is the LTT video that dropped is Linus going full GN

It comes down to trust. I'll watch LTT content and read their data, but I won't ever trust it. LTT has shilled too many shitty products over the year with their fundamental 'show it in its best light' concept for me to every trust them. GN? GN I trust. GN will actively shoot themselves in the foot to say what is right. Linus has done this in the past, but not to the same degree or intensity that Steve has. So...for me, GN.
