Hi everyone!

Just a quick question and I hope someone that experienced this would answer the question.

I have a Datrium DVX storage with a defective hard drive.

the Model of it is Seagate EXOS 4TB 7E8.

Now I can't find any replacement with the same model, suppliers always send 4TB 7E10 and said that 7E8 is not in production anymore.

is there any compatibility issue that I can have mixing this even if its the same EXOS Lineup?

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

Yes, 7e10 is the latest portfolios in Exos family, built on the same 5-plate air-filled model. In RAID setups, drives can be replaced with another with the exact same capacity, no matter when they were manufactured nor whether they came from the exact same series/lineup/brand. I built a RAID 1 array years ago with one drive from Seagate and another from Toshiba, and it worked without issues.

Oh no need to be desperate about Seagate... You can watch drive failure reports from Backblaze blogs, in which Seagate drives worked just as well as those from other brands. I personally took advantage of two Seagate drives in my home server, serving since 2022.
