BUT Sadly it was a 1 off WU they avg 1k PPD so i kinda doubt you will do much lol...

Yea I saw that one too, my first thought was "uh that's not right" lol... I think it does about the same as my P4 just with far less power consumption.

Does anyone know how to stop the auto-update to Windows 11? I wouldn't mind eventually updating at some point, once I've confirmed everything I use works well, but for now I definitely don't want to restart my PCs and find out they've been updated to Windows 11.

Does it have a remind me later option? I dont have it installed on this computer (have it downloaded) and it might work for windows 11

https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/stopupdates10.html

Alt you might be able to disable updates by saying don't download on metered connections and setting your network to a metered connection which is how I'm currently avoiding updates.

Lol, if that CPU could get that much all the time I'd buy a few more thin clients like the one I just bought.

So I don't think I'll ever revive the ASUS T100 lol... As per ASUS fashion for me it F'd off giving 0 🦆's and 0 notice on dying lol...

Did buy it plus one other as referb, after googling my problem I can see why I was able to get them so cheaply... It blinks 5/6 times rapidly and almost no solution is known to work 100% (nothing worked for me). People wonder why I hate ASUS.

Then again I guess I can only blame myself... I should have known they were going to be shit, it was literally in the product name in the listing... "Asus T100HA-SH11T Transformer Book"

Based on years it was the longest lasting ASUS product I've owned, based on used time it's possibly the least longest living product I've owned from them. Fitting way for said product to go, by getting drunk.

What's decaf? I've never heard of such a monstrosity. All coffee I own has no such label and I ain't going out to buy more coffee, not in this weather 🤣

On said topic I have committed a heinous crime... I've misplaced the best coffee on the planet...

Side note: I've drank coffee at 11PM/1AM, 0 issues sleeping, caffeine doesn't effect me like it does others. Staring at my phone on the other hand...

Yes, I thought about that but I'm not sure if I can disable it on my laptop. I can't restart it right now to find out, and I've just paused updates till January (that's far enough ahead that I wouldn't mind trying it out then). I am going to do that on my desktop though

Definitely dead hardware involved.  I'm thinking it is the APU rather than the MB or RAM, since it happened when I started GPU folding on it.  The system hard locks whenever graphics is used, DVI or VGA, and even with a linux liveCD and in the Windows Installer and RAM without XMP.  I can use BIOS and text UIs seemingly forever though, which again leads me to believe it is most likely the 3d acceleration portion of the APU's GPU.  Any other thoughts or suggestions from folks to try to make that a definitive, other than buy a GPU (LOL)?  I'd hate to buy a replacement APU for the system and it have been the MB.  I've cleaned and reseated everything to no avail.

After initial testing, the gpu portion lived the rest of its life underclocked/undervolted (600mhz, 0.9v) to save on power/heat since it was basically a headless system, while the CPU portion was left mostly normal (slightly underclocked/undervolted, but by 0.1v and only a couple hundred mhz reduction).  So I really don't understand what would cause this.

Thankfully, I'm still JUST inside the 3 year AMD warranty for the APU...though I have no idea how their warranty/RMA will go once I exhaust any other troubleshooting options.

Never left 1080p, I rather crank settings all the way up and enjoy the show than have more pixels to push (plus 4k videos look really good on a 1080p screen). I've never played Crew 2 so I wouldn't know how good/bad it looks outside of YouTube videos.

The Crew 2 could comfortably do max settings on the 2080 at around 1440p, the 3080 of course comfortably does 4K.

When I finally upgrade my TV to one that supports 120Hz 4K, then I will have a dilemma.  Although I find a lot of games outside of FPS (which I don't generally play) can be quite awkward to get 120Hz working properly, couldn't get it to work on The Crew 2.  Though I'd LOVE to run Forza Horizon 5 in 120Hz as I did run 4 a couple of times in 1080p 120fps and it felt amazing.  Its such a hard compromise as at 4K it looks more photo realistic, but at 120Hz it FEELS more realistic, which makes a huge difference when my reaction times aren't exactly great so the latency improvement is a big deal.

Mine developed a faulty charge port, repaired under the last few days of the warranty, it came back with faulty speakers. 😕

Mind you, its slow as sludge, using it as a wall clock which is about all its fast enough for.

So, I was reading through Azure's VM sizes, ya know, as one usually does.

And then I came across this beast:

ND A100 v4-series - Azure Virtual Machines | Microsoft Docs

NDm A100 v4-series - Azure Virtual Machines | Microsoft Docs

So, Hypothetically, what would be the ppd (ya know what, make it pph (points/hour) for these VMs?

Including the CPU

It’s the next one. Always the next step, Dalinar."

The Crew 2 could comfortably do max settings on the 2080 at around 1440p, the 3080 of course comfortably does 4K.

I bought The Crew 2 on Steam for 7$ once. It didn't start working until 45 mins in, and then dropped the connection another 15 mins in. An hour of debugging and I still couldn't get it to start working again. At least they were quick to refund it.

@justpoet that's a shame. I'm surprised at the amount of dead hardware on the thread over there, didn't think modern components were this unreliable - I've only had one laptop that was doomed from the beginning die on me in my 2+ years of Folding. *touches wood*

I wouldn't do much more than word stuff on it which is all I really did on it. The person who has the other unit (I'm guessing it's still working) played videos on it and used it as an alarm clock lol.

I don't own TVs which is the main reason why I'll likely never go 4K for a long while. Do explain the 120fps issue unless it's TV based as I've never had said issue outside of pushing more frames than the gpu could handle.

On the TV side it was before HDMI 2.1 chips were available so only accepts 4K 60Hz, same as a lot of monitors except they had DisplayPort to fall back on which DID support it.  Unofficially it supports 1080p 120Hz but you have to manually enter it into Nvidia Control Panel.

My monitor DOES support 4K 120Hz over all inputs, but if I game on it I'm then giving up Dolby Atmos audio unless I leave the TV on (Windows cuts off audio to the surround receiver if it doesn't see an active screen the other end) plus I lose HDR and OLED contrast ratio if I use the IPS monitor.

As for games, I HATE tearing and most don't have a 120fps cap so its fiddling with vsync in the driver time.  Sometimes the in-game frame rate caps don't work as turning it off just stays stuck at 60 (I believe The Crew 2 does this).  Its just a whole load of fiddling to try to get it to work that I really don't want to be doing.  I was a console gamer for many years because I was sick of this stuff but then got fed up of 30fps with added latency from post-processing on top.

That's surprising, I've been amazed how stable its been when most of the time I have my gaming PC on 5G so game updates don't take forever.  I did buy it at launch but didn't really get into it until the end of 2019 and played it regularly since with only the odd disconnection.  Although it does go down once a week I believe to reset the weekly challenges.
