How did you guys save up for your PC?

Guest
Go to solution Solved by lani100,

Work, Repair some stuff for family and friends and ask some money for the jobs and I buy some used hardware and build computers and sell them with a llittle profit.

But you can sell that apple crap and get a real gaming rig.

My dad will kill me... Literary.

The time you enjoy wasting, is not wasted time.

... i need to get into the stock market.

Uhhh for long term investing sure go ahead! For short term profits.... don't bother unless you absolutely know what your doing. It's a great way to lose money.

I didn't, my mother needed a computer for school, she bought the highest end one (at the time) for about 1k. Then I found a 2006 desktop lying around, fixed it, gave it to her. She liked it better than the laptop (even though it was lower end than the laptop) and gave the laptop to me. :D

I fix computers and computer accessories... sometimes... when I want to...

I took extra shifts in the Restaurant I work at over the Summer. I'll be hoping to do the same this year as well as take a second Job so that I'm still saving enough money to afford to eat when I go to College/University next year.

When I made my first build at 15 I had a full time job, and it was about a weeks salary.

My next workstation PC build will be entirely out of a bonus for being massively ahead of schedule on contracted work, so I am sparing no expense on that one.

For my first rig I worked for a realtor. My second rig, I kinda just woke up in the morning turned on my PC and sold a stock for $5.6k and decided I was going to buy a new PC.

Nice man, wish I'd the patience for stocks but I tend to jump at the first hurdle same problem with crypto currency

I was wrongfully dismissed from my job a couple years back, They had to pay me out 3.4k... So I never had to save up and I never really felt the sting of losing my job or shelling out a ton of money for a computer. And now that i've got it, maintenance and general upgrades aren't really anything that I need to 'save' for.

Tired of hearing people say you can't install OS X on AMD hardware. Educate yourself.

Im not sure how you are pulling that off, I have a full time job too and I find that even a girlfriend drains the checkbook pretty quick. :(

True but I'd prefer stocks its only ezpz because the office doesn't like to go poking at things and they don't care how I fix something once I fix it (quick) and document it.

Girlfriends drain more than wives since they're not commited.

When i was a kid I used to do yard work and that can pay off quick on weekends, I used to make 50-70$ a day.

Just mow lawns and rake leaves or take care of old ladies plants, old ladies have loads of money!

Got a really shit rig off my parents to start with for $50, then just put all my money aside until I could get some decent stuff
