Checked my bank account, checked the cost of parts, made sure the latter number was smaller than the former, and away I went. :P

Granted, it's a lot easier being older and having a full time job. If you're just part time or have limited income, the option you mentioned about saving a certain % is a great way to go about making a 'PC Build' fund.

30% of my paycheck goes to my savings.

I waited until I had ~$1200 set aside with still enough afterwards to pay for insurance, food, phone, and server bills.

This way I could pay out of savings without actually putting any strain on myself financially.

I'm doing this again right now, and usually I have enough after a few months of saving up.

I could do that, I'm Cyber Schooled (Thanks MOM!) so I could work full time as long as I make up the hours ^-^.

... i need to get into the stock market.

I did a thing once and it was awsome: https://soundcloud.com/jamese666/junkhead-cover-with-vocals

I could do that, but my dad is really set with Apple like for real. I could receive a Macbook no problem. THough I hate apples.

But you can sell that apple crap and get a real gaming rig.

Don't get mad, get even...
