How did you guys save up for your PC?

Guest
Go to solution Solved by lani100,

Work, Repair some stuff for family and friends and ask some money for the jobs and I buy some used hardware and build computers and sell them with a llittle profit.

Asked for a crappy cheap one in a fancy case for Christmas, upgraded parts through selling the old ones, bday money, and selling old consoles. I just sold a xbox 360 slim for 300$ and naught me a ASUS Crosshair v formula-z mobo. So you can see it's taking me forever but at least it's coming along haha.

Game On :)

I got my PC for about 500-600 dollars after lots of mowed lawns during the summer. After I got it I still constantly saved to get it better. (I just needed a capable PC soon, So I bought the CPU, RAM, MoBo, PSU and the case; then used an existiong 500gb hdd) As I saved my PC is really good now. About $1200 total (I think) between weekly allowance, lawn mowing, birthday money/gifts, and Christmas money/gifts.

A man of charm with strange quarks.

I had a job and lived with my parents. I could have made a much better rig if I didn't waste all my money.

At first my mum lent me the money to buy it, then I paid her back monthly from my salary. From then, I've bought all components myself.

umm My I was over seas at the time, my mother used all my money in my bank account to donate shoes and school books to this orphanage on the day of my bday. It was good an all until I actually found out it was my money in my bank account. So she offered to give me the money to build a PC, which is where I started to learn how to build one, and then pick the parts and finally put it together. However this christmas I am getting $600 solely because christmas. Yes I am only child, but I don't get everything I want I get things within reason, oh and I also have to get a good report, in which I did this year, which is another reason why I am getting the $600 I love my mum :3, now time to find a job!

I've got about $1.5k saved up in my bank account from birthdays (never spent any money i got) and an internship i had. I could have a nice rig if i spent it all but I don't plan on doing so. The current pc i have is from parts we had in our house and some that i got for free. I've spent about $60 total on this build for GPU, PSU, and Motherboard upgrades.

Hey fellow tech heads, I have a simple question for you guys. How did you guys save up for you PC? By that I mean did you have a part time job and save 20% or did you walk the dog and saved forever? I'm looking for ideas to buy some computer parts. I'm almost going be in jail for murder with this crappy laptop. Thanks!

The time you enjoy wasting, is not wasted time.
