How did you guys save up for your PC?

Guest
Go to solution Solved by lani100,

Work, Repair some stuff for family and friends and ask some money for the jobs and I buy some used hardware and build computers and sell them with a llittle profit.

How did you earn the money you needed for your build? (Job, allowance, etc.) How much did it cost?

With great difficulty with no job.

Currently I've put in £345 and I still need a half decent graphics card and another hard drive for storage.

$1500 or so including monitor, and some peripherals. I went with pretty pricey components too, and avoided cutting too many corners.

Paid for through part-time work study during senior year of university.

Planning a multi-monitor+server build, might come to about $2000 or more depending on hardware. Plan on paying for it through current summer internship and future employment.

Haven't built mine yet but I've saved up around $600 mowing lawns, raking and saving lunch money. My parents owe me $200, so I may get that sometime before I'm 40... I've also bought, fixed and sold a few canoes to make a few bucks. I was going to sell the boat I bought last summer and go all out on a ~$1500 PC, but I couldn't let it go :l
