Had Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus for over 3 years, until i broke the screen being stupid.

Now i bought a Samsung Note 10 Plus, which i hope to keep in 1 piece for a lot longer then that. (i hope).

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

It was a pretty bad phone since day one though, which I should have replaced much easier :P

Hey there.

Got a Samsung Galaxy S8+.

Digging up receipts for its accessories, seems I've held on to it for at least 3 years. Not sure where I put the original receipt for the phone. 🤔

I've had previous phones, I don't remember how long they've lasted, though? Very possibly 2+ years.

  • I still have a Samsung Galaxy S5 I keep as a backup phone, if my current ever borks for whatever reason. Forgot when I got that one, but it's way past 2+ years.
  • Had a Nokia N Series that lasted me my entire secondary school. I forgot if it was N96, N81, or something else entirely. I do remember it being able to slide out from both sides if held horizontally (landscape, not portrait), and it having a square button.
  • Before that, I had a Nokia N-Gage. I remember playing a Sims game on it, very fun. 😁

iphone 11 Pro

About 6 months, gave my XR to my fiancée, sold her 8 and got an 11 Pro.

I had a K800i ages ago then a 3GS for 4 years, a 5 for 3 and a SE for 4. Then a XR for a year.

K800i still works fine, as does the 3GS, sold the 5, SE is still fine, XR is with my fiancée.

A few months? Since launch, whenever that was. I've actually forgotten when they launched.

Sure, several ones.

27 minutes ago, fpo said:

Depends on how you defined one as lasting. If you just mean how long I used one, I think 4 years is the maximum. If you mean how long they were functional, I've only had one phone break on me after two years or so and it was a component-failure.

Xiaomi mi 9t

yes all of them

One plus one lasted me almost 6 years had a lg g5 too as a secondary as a business phone for 3 years. Both still work but have major defects not making them a phone anymore but more of a small tablet.

My galaxy ace 2 is a music phone after it had served me and my dad for years and now just streams music at my parents house permanently plugged in. Probably 8 years old by now.

Originally intended for when it broke. (Common reason for upgrades) but when it stopped being used daily.

Some people have phones that still work, but replaced them for one reason or another. They're no longer being tested for endurance.

TL;DR
I am going to say, when did it stop being used daily?

Samsung Galaxy S10+

16 months

Yes, all my phones have lasted my 2 years without issue, I've never had a Samsung phone quit on me or significantly degrade to the point of not being able to use it. I typically upgrade every 2 generations though, and either sell my phone used, or pass them down to a family member as they have always worked perfectly fine. I've had the S8+, S6, S3, all got me to 2+ years.

2. I've had it for over 3 years (July 2017). The battery is a bit bad but I'm planning to replace it

3. Yes.

4. Usually the problem is the battery getting really bad.

I still use my old Galaxy S3 and my secondary phone. I've had it since January 2014.

The only non-battery related problems I've had:

ZTE Blade 1: Didn't recognize a SIM card anymore

LG Nexus 5: WiFi dead and Bluetooth doesn't work sometimes, restarts randomly when charging (might be battery related), broken power button (the power switch is fine so I just removed the button)

None of my phones have ever died completely.
