Is it me, or are awfully written posts increasing?

pythonmegapixel

In the past week or so, I've seen far more than usual of:

  • Posts written entirely in code tag
  • Posts written in massive font, or all-caps
  • Posts littered with dozens of emoji
  • Posts with "PLEASE HELP ME" written bold and underlined in huge font
  • Posts Written Like This With The First Letter Of Every Word Capitalised Which Is A Pain To Read And Looks Stupid
  • Posts dumped in General
  • Posts which quote other massive posts without snipping, or quote OP, creating needless clutter

More often than not they are from accounts with only a few posts.

Has anyone else noticed that these are increasing, or is it just me?

Why are there so many of them? Do people not look at a few other threads before posting to get some idea of how it's supposed to work?

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Rather I would say the opposite

It's possible it's a little worse than usual due to new graphics cards launching.

I have been guilty of quoting long comments a couple of times, but once is pointed out to me I have stopped.

Unfortunately, I'm sometimes on my phone when replying to comments and, as many will be aware, a forum is generally never as intuitive or usable on a phone as it is in a desktop format.

It's always been that way on the forum. We have a ton of people who come and go after their questions have been answered, never to be seen again.

HEY excuse you. My intelligence is high (insert big brain joke).

I have seen other people my age, and their posts are riddled with spelling mistakes and is quite annoying. It takes time to get up to speed using capitalization and punctuation and everything like that. My early posts are like that

Either @piratemonkey or quote me when responding to me. I won't see otherwise

Always happens this time of the year. We get an influx of people because of ROGRigReboot. Some stick around after it's over. Most disappear.

My biggest pet peeve here. If I was a mod, I'd be nonstop sniping posts and alerting users as to why. It would just never end. I mean, how dumb does one really have to be?

Otherwise, I have noticed all of this as well. But it happens so often I've become mostly numb/used to it. I do think we need to do something about it though. Really damn frustrating when you're trying to help someone out, your dyslexia freaks the fuck out because they used some weird ass font and now words just don't exist anymore.

Depending it might be beneficial especially with new users. They will probably not quote you when responding so then you don't see it. Also when responding to specific parts of a question it's fine. Besides that it's annoying especially with pictures or videos on op's post
