Donkey Kong Country had some good music.

Dark Souls 2 was pretty atmospheric and I loved the theme when you stepped into Majula and met King Vendrick.

Doom 2016 also had a great soundtrack.

Other games that come to mind are Halo, The Elder Scrolls, and Gran Turismo.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm has an amazing soundtrack. The songs fit the somewhat darker mood of the game so perfectly, whilst in some places still maintaining hints of the laid back, dreamy feeling of the first game. Unlike the first Life is Strange though, the sequel had an additional band hired to write the majority of the songs.

There's one independantly released song on the soundtrack that, lyrically, fits the lead character so well, it's hard to believe it wasn't purposefully written, but released several years beforehand. Speedy Ortiz - Down Below for those interested.

Unfortunately it's all quite dependant on you knowing the character and the story, but those who know, know :P

Any Elder Scrolls and Pokemon game is up there, IMO, but if I had to name two specific games it would be Skyrim and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. 

I could listen to their respective OST's for days. So relaxing and with Pokemon so diverse.

Callista by Saki Kaskas.  It was originally in Need For Speed 2 (I think, maybe it was 3?) and much later was also in Mass Effect 2.
