Maybe FSB actually stands for Fondue Searing Block?

I'm an IT System Admin with 15+ years worth of XP, plus I've been tinkering computers since I was old enough to hold a screwdriver, so I usually know what I'm talking about.

it is technically not a heatsink because it does not dissipate more heat than the CPU would without anything. (sorry to be "that guy")

Technically it does, otherwise the meat wouldn't cook at all. Heat is being pulled from the CPU shield to the meat. If you kept replacing the meat with fresh bits it would still be better than nothing. 

 

(Ignoring the water build up which will kill the board)

Anything can be a heatsink if you're brave enough.
