I like organized icons but I don’t actually store anything on the desktop. I can’t stand getting on my moms computer because she has somehow decided the desktop is the only place worth saving documents and files, lol

I used to be a mess but I've been trying to get stuff organized properly as of late. On my server, as an example, I just have a software folder on my desktop and some text files (sometimes) for stuff I still need to do. On my main PC, it's still not the best but my overall file structure is quite organized

Mine is pretty full. About 30-35 icons on the desktop. It’s not super organized, but at least I know where things are when I need them.I

I keep my Desktop minimal, just the Recycle bin. Anything I use frequently is pinned to the taskbar, anything else I just click search and start typing.
(NB I thought you meant desk top when I first read the subject lol)

I have my desktop set to display mounted drives, I'm on the go so none right now. I have a top panel filled with everything I need, and a bottom panel just for the task list. (using tor because school wifi, im at lunch)

Main and secondary PCs are running Windows 7 with XP Zune theme and ClassicShell for the start menu. I also use ObjectDock (main PC and laptop), Rainmeter (secondary PC and laptop) and Fences (main PC). And most of the things are in Bulgarian.

I have more PCs and laptops, but I won't bother turning them on only for a pic of the desktop. They're not that interesting, well except one laptop, but I don't have access to it at the moment.

That's pretty much how both my laptops look. Thanks to the icon biased nature of Android, my tablets and old phone turned media player have some icons crapped around on my ubiquitous wallpaper. My old BrewOS slider phone even sports a suitably sized variation of this wallpaper, and the main screen has no icons. I despise icons/shortcuts/files crapped on the desktop. I also customize my Start Menu/main menu on devices to streamline them.

My pc at home has Recycle bin, Steam and what ever 2 games I'm playing most currently. Here at work, it's a mess. About as good as I can make it with the stuff I use daily. It's all stored in too many different places to easily use start menu unfortunately.

There is very little on my desktop as I usually don't even see it over the things I have constantly opened.

Currently for the main rig.  Sometimes more stuff on the desktop depending on what I'm doing and other times minimal like this after I straighten it up.

2nd rig is a flavor of linux distro at times and can be quite messy desktop depending on what I'm doing with it.

3rd rig is just terminal CentOS 7, so no desktop there to show.
