Look what I found being thrown away...

I see 4 boxes with trash written all over them. So, I go over to them and open them up and this is what is inside. The failed Microsoft fitness tracker branded as an Xbox product called the “Joule”. This was probably the precursor to the Microsoft Band. The GPS functionality never connects, and the clock starts at 4:00 whenever you power cycle the device but I did get it to pick up time once while being plugged into usb while connected to my desktop. The heart rate monitor seems to be working correctly. Very interesting to see a prototype that was most of the way complete getting thrown away. I just wonder if it could be finished somehow to at least get the gps working properly and have the clock hold a time? Hey Linus, ya want one?

Places. You find them places. I'm not gonna scoop my spot because there is always more stuff out there, ya know?

Neat. It's always stupidly cool when people find prototypes just being tossed.

This is ridiculously cool and I'm relieved they didn't end up in a landfill somewhere. I'm not sure if there's enough content that works to make a video on it... Found a Windows Central article on it that goes over everything they got it to do and there's not much to see. Still, this is a curio and a piece of gaming history I definitely want to see preserved... I'll see what @LinusTech thinks during our next content meeting.

@GabenJr Glad to see you enjoyed my find. I understand that it might not be enough for its own content piece, so it is no big deal if you pass. I have multiple boxes of them and have found at least 1 that doesn’t work so far so by "hey do you want one?" I really mean more like 4 with 2 functioning and 2 that don’t so they could be taken apart possibly.

Nice! Just don't sell it for money, you don't want Microsoft searching your house.

Once a guy found an unrealased iPhone 4 and he sold it to a news company, and it was a disaster.

Exactly, which is why no one will be buying one from me ever. Microsoft has some pretty ballin lawyers and I would rather not see how good at their jobs they are.
