LTT Official Folding Month 2019!!!

Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

Alright guys, the time for locking this thread has come, can you all please use the Folding Community Board for all further talk.

Thank you all again for participating in the event.

Once the sheet is cleaned up I will edit this post to add the link to the spreadsheet.

@TVwazhere Can you please lock this thread for me.

Is there a reason why this is only once a year / in October?

Could a dead of winter session be a thing so we could leverage cooler temps outside to balance out our rigs cooking our homes?

October is worldwide breast cancer awareness month, last year the event was held in November. We will have a couple other events going this year, a summer folding sprint, and it is looking like a joint operation with PCGH will happen in February too.

i gotta say, as far as PPD numbers go, this event has been a pretty inconsistent one for me.

where the WU's just this wild, or is something else going on? all my machines have been running full on for pretty much all the time, apart from the obvious drop to 2M where i had to turn them off fro the night.

Question for our Server guys and @Metallus97

is there a command I can run in Ubuntu for the client to stop folding once all projects have been completed? As I have multiple servers running, don’t want that halfway through they all stop due to no balance left ??

I am not sure but I think the command was "FAHClient --send-command finish all".

However, that will just finish all the WUs but server will keep running, and I am not sure but I think they will still bill you if server is online, on GCP.

Tho, if you are talking about cherry servers, then yeah, you can just use that command.

./FAHClient --help

Will give you a list of commands, I believe it is pause finish command on linux, but I'm not 100% sure.

Pause command should just pause WUs like on windows. Finish command is what he is looking for I think. But yeah, "FAHClient --send-command help" or "./FAHClient --help" (as you noted) will give him a lot of useful info.

Heh, I could use my ppd this month to design a rollercoaster...

And the funny thing, I havent changed anything all month. Talk about difference in the workunits.

About 1.3m ppd from top to bottom day.

Mine also looks like a giant rollercoaster, but my ppd processing isn't really all that variable, it just looks like it because of the variable size of the WUs, so when a large WU hits just before or just after midnight, it skews the day rather wildly.

Mine was steady apart from the days I had a stuck WU or my internet cut off.  looks like a mountain near the end.... the next drop is going to be massive lol

My last bill mostly fit my expectations and raised the electric by about $35 for the month.  That gets a bit offset by home heating oil not needing to be used quite as much though, so really not that bad, despite everything being CPU folding for me.

Botnet Folding you say....

I've always wondered this. Like someone out there who was just trying to make an exploit to show people that it existed and needed to be fixed but then have them run F@H or Boinc. Would be pretty cool. But if it does happen.... errr... I didn't do it. lol

Also got to take into consideration our friend in the southern hemisphere they were actually able to fold for the beginning of the event pretty well before temps kicked up in the last couple of weeks. But it might change back to November next year. Just need to figure out what the perfect balance is.
