Would be totally fine. You're only talking about a slight displacement difference. You'd also have to consider the compression ratio differences. But honestly, these stock turbos aren't being run near their limits. Even the tiny turbo on my 1.8T has a ton more headroom above stock boost on a GTI at 180hp - they max out around 220hp. The turbos on those Saab engines are larger than that of the 1.8T and thus have even more headroom available.

You're partially correct. It's actually not the mount of boost, but rather the amount of power an engine makes that determines the limits of what it can handle. Varying factors like compression ratio, size of throttle body and cams etc. will effect how much power a given engine can make with a given amount of boost. Generally,You build/setup an engine to reach a power target, not a certain amount of boost. How much boost is required to reach that power target will vary depending on various aspects of the setup. ;) 

 

With these factory turbo engines from Saab, VW, Volvo and the likes, people have been tweaking and tuning them for a long time. Thus, it's become fairly evident the max amount of boost these engines can take before they start making too much power and tear themselves apart. ;)

really? because in the video, the cars in the demo were focus sts (well maybe like 2-3 of them). i'm assuming it was an option then? because those are legit cool, and retract and come out depending on the position of the door.

Bingo, the drivetrain was important to me.

 

I have other things to spend money on than sunroofs and auto park assist systems.

I would have liked that, but you cant pick a la carte, you have to add $6000 worth of other shit to get the heated Recaros, I decided it wasnt worth 25% of the price of the car.
