Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

that's seriously impressive. like i imagine that would take weeks to do all that engraving by hand.

so which way could possibly cause more damage? when you're at a stop and you start off  and rev in order to slide the gear into first, or when you're on the freeway and you pull, and you shift from 4th to 5th at near freeway speeds?

probably from a stop. upshifting shouldn't cause much damage if clutch dropping.

Purple + blue never looked bad

Here's my color options, I actually quite like the gold, but not sure how much it'd stick out on my bike.   I think I might get that titan color with a gold adjuster.

Now you just need a world record engine in that bike. ;)

I would assume when up shifting at freeway speeds, you're going to be off the gas mid shift anyway, thus the engine is dropping in speed when you drop it.

Though, if you're on the gas during the upshifting, I would actually assume the damage to be equal if not greater at speed, as due to the gearing disadvantage of 5th gear, something else will probably give before the car accelerates, or at least, your engine and clutch will collectively hate you for it. Then again, the RPM differences are usually much smaller at speed than dropping the clutch at a dead stop.

protege is that bad on gas? I think something is wrong with yours lol, perhaps change the AFR sensor or something if you never have... i can get 200-240 miles with my 12 gallon tank on my miata (filling up at a quarter left) usually.

My corolla was so good on gas.... regular gas and I never got it below 30mpg, even putting your foot down all the time lol. the tank was a bit small too, around 12 gallons. but I would go 260-300 miles on a tank, filling up at a quarter left.

I get 400 miles out of a 15 gallon tank on the accord. :D (i fill up a little below the 1/4 line, but generally before the gas light comes on).

I get a little over 300 miles out of a 16.8 gallon tank. Mostly highway at 1500ish rpm

(At a quarter tank the "CHECK GAUGES" light comes on and i chicken out and look for the nearest gas station)

I just use the digital display and sometimes go down to a gallon or two before filling up. Most times it's around a quarter tank though, gas stations are along the way so why not fill it up.

I can get 450+ miles out of my 16 and-a-bit gallon tank. I usually fill up when I have around 30 miles left, unless I know that I'll have to drive for a while the day after.

hey @vetali quick question

let's say i was holding the clutch while the engine is running and the car is moving, and my foot accidentally slips off the clutch pedal, causing the clutch to deactivate. would it cause any damage if my foot accidentally slipped off the clutch, because i'm assuming the clutch plates will smash against each other when you release the clutch pedal suddenly. just asking in case it ever happens.

If the car is moving, you'll just make it jerk really hard and you'll keep going forward.

Not a big deal if it happens /rarely/ I mean or even occasionally... It just hurts the ride quality more than anything

Around 480 miles for me. Just shy of 30 mpg. Which is fairly good for a 2.2 liter, straight six. All about that light throttle.

I just drove regular, but had a bit more freeway driving. 3.0L v6. it's rated 30mpg for highway, so I'd think I  could get that, but I have too much city driving.

I should probably look mine over as well... Will check if just cutting the slack will make it a bit better.

Have to get my inspection done sooner or later. February at the latest, but would prefer to have it done sooner.

So if anyone can find under the hood relay J for a 2000 9-5 I'd be so grateful. Any help is super appreciated

I have never had a car that didn't have the inspection period (8) August - December oddly enough.

If you could pull that off that would be great.

I'm open to ordering from overseas. Actually that will be my best bet. Saabs aren't common in the US really
