Well I could have told you that just from what I could see in testing my 1080ti overclock, even at 80% fan speed the heatsink/vapor chamber block has already reached its thermal dissipation maximum and can only hold it to 72c, cutting that heat dissipation down by removing surface area would only massively increase temperatures.

It's a meme based on some HP commercial.

We'd love to do one every 3 months. We're finally approaching a point where that might be possible based on the staffing additions we've made this year.

Expect to see a lot more "episodic" content in the coming years :) we've got big plans.

Single slot Titan NO!

The exhaust would be a great replacement for a hair dryer though.

How to properly make a single slot titan:

1) buy a custom copper heatsink from http://www.heatsinkusa.com/

Something like this but longer, the full length of the card:

Image result for copper heatsink long

They can make the custom holes necessary to fit components and mounting.

2) have them make the fins bent at the end, such that they produce a "tube" like structure for the air to flow straight through. This will also eliminate the need for a shroud, and will dissipate additional heat on the outside of the heatsink.

Like this:

3) Have them mill out a circular section near the rear of the card for a low profile blower fan.

4) lower the frequency and voltage of the titan a little to prevent throttling under load.

5) enjoy your actually working single slot card, for about the same price as all the tools used in the video. It will look way better too!

Aren't Quadro cards single slot and you could just steal the cooler off one of those from the same generation?

Funny video though, I like seeing random shit like this tried out.

Is it your job to watch every LTT video that goes online or you do it just because you like it or both?

Please quote me so that I know that you have replied unless it is my own topic.

"Our calipers hold a zero like a drunk hits a bullseye"

Kinda curious, what calipers are those? Those massaging-it-in problems feel like tight-fit tolerance issues where you need to offset a bit away from the actual mark (the clearance/transition/interference fitments; link for reference)

I get the measuring every nook and cranny gets really hard (I'm doing one for the inside walls and screw holes of an iPad right now) and I sometimes catch those off-by-"one" errors and going "hang on how did I get X in the first 5 measurements??"

Not to mention it could've also just been the part warped or wasn't printed 100% geometrically accurate, especially since they used ABS which is known to warp.

Side Note: At what point do you guys kill an idea? Never? The moment you decided that you were going to use a dryer vent connected to the video card, why did you decide to continue wasting time on this?

Why not name the video: "Ruining a GTX Titan and make it take up 5 times more room in your case!"

This video almost feels as bad as the "Casting your own heatsink" video. I think these videos are great ideas, but you guys only put like 30% effort into it or something and then it ends up a joke.

Well, they made the video and you watched the video right?  Then it wasn't a waste of time.  Even a failed project is worth it if the failure leads to a 10min production that *looks* already has 500 000 views

No these things are frigging horrible, if you move them too fast they will be out by 10mm plus, and regularly are out by a couple of mills.  Once I realized how bad it was I decided that those will probably only serve as scribes from now on, just the holes on the side of the shroud were off by something crazy like 7mm.

I'm one of the main QC people over here, so it is my job to watch most (if not all) of our videos. But I do also enjoy the content that we put out, so both.
