LTT Official Folding Month 2020!!!

Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

Luckily when I said it was almost done, I really meant it.

For the last time in 2020, ladles and gentlespoons, here a blog post.

And with that said, it's a wrap! Thank you for everyone getting involved, if you'd like to continue talking about folding why not head over to The Folding Community Board

So the current plan is to shit the badge requirements, with anyone currently holding a badge to be grandfather in, other than this, theres no exact time for the change or point values yet decided.

It is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that further badges will be added, it's possible, but unlikely

But but... the Den-Fi...

well, as far as i can tell, multiple *ahem* assisted ungraceful exits from the game kills the driver, but this being the middle of a folding event i don't necessarily want to reinstall right now

It's the one thing I hate about windows, you can't simply refresh something like in Linux via command line, but almost everything requires a restart to refresh.

I paused folding for a little bit to test out the new fluids update for the game and it managed to crash Firefox F@H Advance(not the actual F@H itself) Discord and my blu-ray player, and kept causing issues in game still, plus made one screen go dead and the other black... So While I'm not part of the event I rather fold vs not right now, so I've stopped playing the game as restarting this computer is hell as it has no SSD.

I can remember having to force end the explorer task in windows and then restart it from the run new task option before, but that was before windows 10 soo

Before windows 10 that was actually more successful when explorer was causing issues, when it failed however at least I don't have to wait 5-10 minutes for windows to reboot on a HDD like windows 10 does. Half the time when I try to "restart" it, it either doesn't work, or doesn't have the option.

I'm waiting for a few more years then I'll jump off the broken Gates and Shattered Windows bandwagon, to go Penguin. Tho I have had better success running windows (pre 10) in a VM threw Linux than on the actual hardware itself, games also ran better too 🤪

Also, this huge overclock on both of my 2060's is very stable.

Screenshot_47.thumb.png.9efa58be3647341d78ba54ab6970b0f2.png

The 2 failures is my 2080s, were I pushed the core to +100. Seems stable at around +70, although it can be pushed to +80, but have noticed that although it doesn't crash, it does seem a little unstable.

Personally... on the badge front... I think what you got is the right idea, cause for people on one card, or casually doing this... it's still gonna take a long time.

For the Den-Fi types... why not the Mythic Badge with a number in the corner for the number of times they got it... like rewards in games and stuff.

Yup, sort of like World community grid does...

Hey!  My mini folding rig is finally back online.  All it needed was a new motherboard.  Got one new (surprisingly), threw it all back together, and wham!  I'm back up to licking the toes of 9m ppd.

Grats on getting 1K posts on the forum!

Those cards are getting old I will say.

Edit:

My 2060's now have the same clock speed as my 2080s... 1100 is max on the mem for these cards.
