I don't know much it will cost, but I guess the case is appealing if you like cheese graters or you like the look of the new Mac Pro's case.

Honestly, while I can see myself building a Hackingtosh out of an old G5 like LTT is doing right now, I just don't understand how the new Mac Pro's design ever got past so many executives. Those large holes with the vents behind then just gimme tryphophobia.
But, I suppose given Apple's continuous rise in popularity there's enough people without taste in this world to justify a clone

Also, unlike the Samsung case, isn't this a pretty cut and dry design rip-off? I doubt it'll survive for long until Apple intervenes.

I respectfully disagree. I actually like the look of the new Mac Pro's case and I'd be interested in buying this "clone" if the price is reasonable.

eh it was meant more as a tongue in cheek anyway. I stand by my opinion that it would've looked a ton better if they went with smaller holes like the G5, but I have to admit the overall design (front-to-back-airflow) and the way it opens and the handles is pretty good.

And though I understand the decision from both, a manufacturing, upgradability and a reliability perspective, I kinda wish they (Apple, not the clone company) went something more custom/sleek looking, examples being

My bet is on at least 99$. Or 149$, but if you need to replace one, they're 49$

Then again, given the vesa adapter is like 199$, maybe the wheels will be even more ridiculous than that.

I guarantee in the first week, someone will 3d model an adapter so you can attach some <insert-local-DIY-shop> wheels onto the thing.

Won't lie: I'm a Mac user (not that I intend to buy a Mac Pro), but if had to jump to a Windows desktop, I'd be sorely tempted to get this.  Assuming it survives any legal challenges.

I’m in the same position. It looks like it would be a good airflow design and be a very aesthetically pleasing chasis

Hopefully they don't get sued out of existence. This case would be very popular with people like myself who love the mac but also love paying reasonable prices for hardware.

Anyway, the thing comes with built in speakers and even has a headphone jack!

Older HP or Dell workstations have built in speakers too, not sure about them new ones.

There are already cases like that. Got a chance to build with one of them and the case is trash!

How similar is this? Even if it’s a different size, if the aesthetic is largely identical and if the dimensions are proportionally the same? This may well be infringement of copyright. 
 

Hopefully they were smart enough to change enough key details to make it “similar yet legally distinct”. 
 

Because if it’s not distinct enough, you can be damn sure that Apple will sue them (rightfully don’t) into oblivion.

It is a decent looking case, both in terms of copied aesthetic and build quality and ease of access.  I'd be interested if the price is good, once it isn't kickstarter vaporware.

@DrMacintosh has done the hackintosh G5 mod, is struggling with GPU thermals ATM even with a fairly tame GPU (RX580)

Only because I elect to keep the interior looking stock. 
 

If I ripped out the shroud and got rid of the metal divider, there wouldn’t be any issues as the main intake would provide air for the whole system.
