Where have all the good games gone ? the one you really enjoyed?

dgsddfgdfhgs

A good game just needs to be enjoyable , unlike games in recent decade that you can finish in half a day and no motivation for a 2nd run...

I want to share a awesome game in my childhood. (1999 i think?)

Little Fighter 2 / lf2.net

not sure how popular this was, but it is a free game by CUHK(The Chinese University of Hong Kong) . people did lots of mod to it .

couldnt find anything similar ever since

lf2.net I strongly recommend this game. Link still works!, free and opensource

Sounds to me like you just have bad taste in games. I find plenty of good, worthy games all the time.

a big one for me is Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005. i played that a lot as a kid, but i couldn't beat it. i still haven't beaten it. i played it again a year ago, and i got to blacklist 3 until my pc crashed and i lost my save file :(

we also had a NES when i was young, and there was this one game called gun smoke. it was a 2D shooter where the level you were playing went on in an infinite loop. for every kill you got money, and if you had enough you could buy better weapons or progress to the next level, which would play in an infinite loop until you got enough to go to the one after that. i never finished it, i don't know how many levels there are....

I really miss the love I had for Call of Duty Black Ops 1 & 2, I could play the Multiplayer (BO1 solo & BO2 mostly with friends) for months and never get tired of it.

These days I play online games for a couple of weeks and be done with it.

Another game I really miss is Need for Speed Underground 1, to me after that EA has never been able to make a racing game as good as that one.

Luckily there's still a good amount of singleplayer story games that I really enjoy and there's a few games I always go back to once a year like Skyrim and Dark Souls 3.

So there's still always something for me to play.

IMHO there are many more good games today than ever before, and I've been in PC gaming since 1993 or so.

Hell, there's a reason why I endlessly replayed certain games when I was a kid: there wasn't all that many good games to choose from, so you were happier to replay the great ones.

Today, there are so many nice, polished games to choose from, it often feels like you're missing out if you play just one or two of them.

Final Fantasy 3, F-Zero (I personally loved the soundtrack)

But there are still plenty of games coming out today that I like. 2018, imo, was a pretty nice year for games.

I feel like the publishers are just milking old ass franchises like Call of Duty, Battlefield and Assassin's Creed. They should just focus all of their effort on making new games and series.

With that being said, I have many favourite games, but the major ones are Ratchet and Clank: Gladiators, Skyrim, Kotor 2 and Battlefield 3.

My stuff:

Off the top of my head, here's a list of games that I want to play, yet simply can't get to because I have so many other games I'm playing:

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Assassin's Creed Origins

Subnautica

Resident Evil 7

Resident Evil 2 remake

Warhammer 40k Mechanicus

Pillars of Eternity 2

Hitman 2

Crackdown 3

Dishonored 2

Far Cry New Dawn

Metro Exodus

Watch Dogs 2

Quantum Break

GTA5

Aragami

Steel Rats

Darksiders 3

MGS5

Sunset Overdrive

Into the Breach

Monster Hunter World

Bendy & the Ink Machine

A bunch of telltale games

This is not even counting interesting games I got for free on Steam and other services, such as Kholat, Story of my Uncle, Axiom Verge, plus a crapton of walking simulators like Town of Light, plus great games that I want to replay at some point.

Also, fricking Sekiro and Doom Eternal are coming this year, and those two are going to take many tens, if not hundreds of hours of my gaming time.

Gaming is in a great place, yo.

while it is true that they AAA studios really do not make games like they used to. Indie and AA studios are making great games, specifically single player ones.

The problem is I am getting older...

Long gone are the days I games 12/13 hours a day at weekends. Now I propbably game 12/13 over a good week! And that is mostly FM which I can leave running while I do other things or Rocket League which I can game in short sessions.

I used to load up Kerala Space Program and play 3-5 hour sessions (with regular mini breaks). I cant do that now I have a family to look after and provide for/clean up after.
