Just to add my two cents here. I also own one of those predator helios 300 and it did run quite hot while gaming. I've been through lots of forum posts with quite some different solutions, such as repasting, undervolting, and so on... but one idea in particular was different. There was one guy who suggested to turn off the processor turbo boost, and he provided a script to help doing so.
 
I took this leap and well, it actually helped a lot. My Predator used to run at 88-92ºC while playing heavy games, and around 74-76-ish while playing some older games. After I turned off turbo boost it never went past 78ºC on any games, while it did maintain a very good performance on all of them, I actually couldn't tell if there was a noticeable difference at all on gaming performance.

I may also add that I use this laptop for coding as well, and my compile times are still super fast even without the boost.

I use a Iphone because it just works, but if i get a ipad or a macbook that is already bent upon arrival then there's no way I would accept such a crap product.

The most obvious reason to me for not using BitCoin (or other cryto) is that the Chinese has banned all crytocurrency-related stuff (officially anyways) a while ago. So if they ask for BitCoin, they'd have to sell/exchange overseas, which makes it as traceable as WeChat pay. WeChat pay could be set up quite easily without putting any personal info at risk. Afaik, there are still ways to get a sim card without showing ID card (officially, China requires all sim sellers to ask for ID card when selling sims). With the phone number, ppl can register WeChat pay easily and use money entered into the account to buy stuff in shops. I've seen jewelry store (as in store that sell gold jewelry and whatnot) accepting WeChat pay so spending the money and then reselling the product to cleanse the money isn't as hard as you think.

Probably not.  Linux ain't mainstream enough.  It's more likely that people will switch to macOS or ditch desktops and laptops altogether if Microsoft can't get it together.

These discussions are getting ridiculous and go no where.  For the most part forum users are suffering cognitive bias as they are always the goto people when there is a problem. We are the people who take an interest and go looking for articles on said issues.   When was the last time someone came up to you and said, "hey, my pc is working fine, no need to worry today"?  They don't, not because it doesn't happen but because no one cares to do that. 
 
I want data, I want the percentage of updates that fail.  Compare all the leading OS's.  and causes. I don't want to read opinion pieces from media.

I honestly don't know how to take the video used in this thread. The guy was literally abusing the crap out of the thing, which anything else would've likely been trashed as well.

As for alcohol, they feed their 4 year olds beer to build up their tolerance so I don't think that needs elaborating. You don't drink apple juice in a business meeting, you drink whisky and other expensive stuff.

This would've been my worst nightmare as a kid if I was still living there, 1-2 hours of game time is not enough. Then again, considering how hard some of the kids game over there, it's not that surprising.
