So I was on the dark part of YouTube today and came across a video discussing this article found here: http://adequacy.org/public/stories/2001.12.2.42056.2147.html

So if you have looked at it you might be able to see it is from over 10 years ago but it still makes me question; "What do our parents think we are doing?" Kind of a stupid topic but after seeing this article (which I assume is a joke of some sorts) you can't help but wonder what do you think your parents think you are doing since you like working with "computers"?

My dad knows a bit about PC's, but he knows that i certainly can't hack, some kid who used to go to my school claims he hacked into the pentagon, pffft i laughed so hard when he told me that

Many people who think they are hackers, are NOT.  Often they are just script kiddies.

 

I laughed so hard the other day when in an episode of this new CSI series, CSI:Cyber, one of the "hackers" quoted Neuromancer as being every hacker's bible.  Sure Neuromancer is one of the most popular cyberpunk genre novels, and is popular in the "tech" community, but every hacker's Bible it ain't.  Even the 1995 movie Hackers got more things right than this lame show.
