Yes, because the 660Ti may be old, but is not yet considered a "low-end" card.

You can get surprisingly powerful hardware that's a few generations old for dirt cheap but still perform strong. Can get something like a 580 for $100.

Those who say PC gaming is expensive to get into are clueless. lol

More like they are looking for anything to support their decision rather than admit they were wrong or ill-informed.

  • 5 months later...

Hi,

I'm going to upgrade my motherboard and I'm starting to realize that I have a ton of devices I no longer use : a network card, an old GPU, an old laptop, two old phones (that are still working). I have an SSD and a HDD in the old laptop so I guess I'd still be able to use them when needed, but I really don't know what to do after I upgrade my motherboard or my CPU. What do usually do with it? What part of a laptop can be reused besides the hard drives and the RAM?

Thanks

Craigslist has always been a great way for me to get rid of parts.  One man's trash is another man's treasure. :D

You can either keep them just in case one of your parts die or something, or sell them on Kijiji/Craigslist

I hoard it. The only reason I'd get rid of old hardware is because it's broken and not worth repairing.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Good idea ! I could build a NAS or an HTPC. I don't really need any of these (Chromecast + Netflix/YouTube FTW) but it might be useful at some point.

Frame old PC parts?  Nail them to a wall for display?  ?

That could actually be kind of cool if the parts were nice looking enough.  Some motherboards and GPUs look really nice.

Im also about to do this tomorrow. Just needed the cheapest CPU, ram and mobo. Didn't need a case but I wanted it to be a mini ITX build so I got a cheap mini case too. All the rest I already have either as spare parts (PSU), or stuff that isn't worth selling now (512 GB SSD and 10 year old monitor, both are worthless compared to how much I paid for them), and I have a spare windows 8 key too.

Linus is my fetish.
