Police in winter weather

Anyone ever just take out the lifted jeeo or truck woth 54" tires in a winter storm and go do whatever you want cuz the cops cant get ya?

The cops don't "have to get you" so long as they can identify your plates, make and model, and any identifying features. If they can find your home address, they don't have to follow you at all.

Not over here, even if it were to snow enough. 

 

Firstly such modifications are illegal here (some are allowed if the manufacturer approves them, but anything involving changed tire diameter is just flat-out forbidden)

Secondly they'll just look up cameras in the neighborhood to find footage of your truck, write down the license plate and either send you a fine or an invitation to appear before a judge.

Also, if you have a truck modded like that it's pretty easy for them to catch up with you later on.

just take the plate off, go rip around. Lol ive done it in one of my buddies jeeps in 2-3ft of snow, lots of fun.

 

Just park it somewhere nobody will see it.

 

Alternatively, ive seen people ripping around on snowmobiles, but i only have quads.

I have taken my dads SUV out during winter and it was a understeer galore (unless I manually set it to rwd) didnt have a lot fun as sliding a 2.5 ton SUV is rather scary, last year around new year, I taken out friends lowered bmw f30 and he drove his c180 we had quite a bit of fun until we had to tow each other out, cops never came and we were there for 2-3 hours, I have too good of an tires to waste on my VW so I dont even bother sliding around.

Uhh... So... Why would the police even want to chase a vehicle down in a snow storm if that vehicle is seemingly navigating the roads just fine...?

I accidently started drifting sideways next to oncoming traffic going 55mph in the country. I recovered fine cuz i go drifting here and then, but man that was scary.

A vehicle like that would be sufficiently easy to identify in a database from description alone in images captured by the traffic light cameras.  They'd just show up at your house after.

A license plate probably isn't even needed tbh (which in a snowstorm, would be difficult to get anyway) as lifted trucks aren't exactly subtle.

Cameras don't tend to work all that great if the vision is obscured by heavy snow. Though regardless, it is still a stupid idea to go breaking the laws in such a blatant fashion.

Cops cant catch ya in that stuff unless you live in some highly democrat city with mass surveillance and stuff like that.

So when you’re doing doughnuts in an intersection and don’t see an approaching car and kill someone and their family... is that fun too?

 

Save the doughnuts for an empty parking lot or private property you have permission to use.

Ive called in drunk driver and told them i had dash cam footage of them swerving across 3 lanes doing 55 in a 45 in down and hopped the curb with a horse trailer... 

 

Smack dab in town on the main road too. Never got a call back. So i doubt that lol.

In the 90s we had a local channel 03 with a guy who made action figures fight and cuss at eachother. I wasnt around for the 80s, but the 90s were so different from today.

 

Something i think people even 5 or 6 years older than me dont understand, cuz now 8 year old have cell phones faster than my first pc in their hand.

If you live somewhere with a very low population (Vermont) and its a snow storm (like most of the time) then you'll probably be fine driving your truck around, or even driving a snowmobile or a 4 wheeler on a public road. But that's only because the population is so low, you're not likely to endanger anyone else, and the cops mostly understand you're just out for a rip there bud.

 

But if you did that in most other states the cops will likely pursue you.
