Came out of a Dell optiplex gx260. I am wondering what the pins are coming off the top left corner of the motherboard? Does anyone know.

I have this old *** computer, I think it’s about 14 years old. 2, 256 mb ram. A pentium  4, I think 2.8 ghz. 250 watt psu. This was expensive when my parents bought it. Don’t know where the ram went actually and I’m not sure how much storage this was.

If you mean the big chunk of metal, that's just the heatsink for power delivery.

probably the coolest laptop keyboard ever created, awesome stuff! it's a shame these kind of things didn't catch on.

Hey there! New to the forum. Hope this post emulates what Ill be posting about and what I want to post about somewhere down the line.

 

Found this piece on ebay a while ago. Once I get sufficient funds sometime for next year, I plan on gutting this, and modernizing it for LAN party gaming.

I wish I had a picture of my old commodore 64, but I have something here that is almost as old.  A 5 1/4 inch floppy drive. The green tag is dated 1/92.  January of 1992.

Thanks friend! I'll be sure to post on Build Log's once i begin the project so I can keep tabs on how I'll manage to make it all work.

 

As for specs, just your run of the mill late 90's build with 128MB of ram, a intel celeron 333mhz processor, a 10GB hard drive, but it was notorious for having an awful power supply and cooling would be an issue, which I plan to address the most during the rebuild.

17" CRT monitor from 1992. It has a max resolution of 1280x1024@60Hz (5:4) or 1024x768@75Hz (4:3). Sadly it has some problems with red color.

It would have cost $1500 back in the day, in todays money that would be $2700.

Hello, I just came across this channel  

Everything I own still works perfectly! 

 

The brand is Tandom (comes from Japan)

Processor: 286 @ 12,5MHz  

2 MB ram 

100 MB hard drive 

Build in 1990.

OS is MS-DOS 3.1

The Lenovo Advanced Dock 2503

• Integrated 6-1 card reader
• CD-RW(swappable for hard drive)
• Expanded connectivity
• Onboard PSU
• Ridiculous size
• A damn PCI-e expansion slot??

Turns out this is a relic that can't be updated to be relevant; The laptop connector is an older Lenovo standard, limiting what devices can be attached to it, and the PCIe slot has a 50w limit, so GPU-wise, it only takes single slot or low profile cards, up to a GT1030. If you're using it for other PCIe devices, I'm sure it'd be great. 

BUT imagine having this in your office back in the day! You'd be the bee's knees!!  

If you have a penchant for old and unique business hardware, mine is on eBay right now. Buy it...please...SOMEBODY

I definitely did not watch the first of his two videos before purchasing. Nope. Fake news.

I kinda wish Dell would have made something similar for the E4310, though maybe with a bit more bandwidth to the card. Be dope to have an X4 slot and a reasonable GPU since the iGPU is about as good for gaming as an orange.

As much as people hate on non-thunderbolt Egpu solutions...I can tell you in my experience it cost the same or less, and works a hell of a lot better. And that's including the price of the other more 'normal' Lenovo dock I actually use.

It's a somewhat odd market,  I do remember someone doing a docking station for a gaming laptop a few years back. I believe it was for water cooling?

People that hate on non-TB solutions are kind of idiotic really. Like oh boy, just one cable!

Too bad if a laptop vendor wanted to they could have a dock with a full fat x8 or x16 connection so you wouldn't have the bandwidth starvation problems of TB.
