Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

traffic moving the whole time but every now and then some dude just changes lanes two inches in front of you

why are people so aggressive? I’m just trying to have a chill Saturday lol

School's back in session, which means that kids now have extracurricular stuff (soccer, baseball, etc.) on the weekends, and you have stressed out parents driving on the freeways.

I've had people pass me on a double yellow while I am going 15 over. Its why I don't go for drives anymore.

Care to explain why that stopped you going for drives? 🙂 The only way to stop me from going for drives is drain my bankaccount and burn my car. That or clog every last road with heavy traffic. But that's me.

Got hit by a one ton ram with a snowplow on, that was actively running from the police. Either insurance is gonna take care of it, or it'll be taken care of through the courts

Both cars are totaled, 100%. Neighbor should file a claim for the oil stains to their cement and any lawn damage. Stains will need pro-pressure washing to remove and oil stains can hurt home value, not even being a jerk.

We've been trying to help her with anything she needs for the last year, doesn't seem like she has kids or grandkids as far as we know. Last year we took care of her leaves, and snow. This year we've taken care of a shed for her. And I think next year we're gonna take over her lawn mowing every week

So I got to see my first Bronco in person today, which included the off road Sasquatch package. It looks just as good in person and doesn't suffer from what, I described to M girlfriend as "Car catfishing"

So my dad's Opel Zafira model A is running quite a bit . . . crap. Just now i had to go pick someone up and i could hardly get it out of the parking space. Like it CHUGGED hard. It just wanted to die every time i pressed on the gas. You know about games stuttering? Well the whole car is stuttering before it gets warmed up and it feels like it's getting worse, and i don't mean it just wanting to stop running at cold starts. I've had it die when i was coming back from a trip, not a really long one, but the water well past being up to temperature. And so i had a mechanic look over it, didn't tell me jack, other than that the exhaust is fine. Which brings me to my dad's solution of removing the catalytic converter.

Now that's not something that surprises me, i've had colleagues from my university that were running no cats. (which doesn't make it fine btw, im just not surprised) And what im asking is "Can i fix it myself?". I have a jack, a rather normal one with 4 small wheels and two jack stands. I have changed the oil of the car before and i have a bunch of tools i can use.

Now i think it's a problem with the O2 sensor, but im not an expert, like at all, i just like cars and i like them running well.

So aside from the car chugging at cold starts until it gets warmer, it also STINKS LIKE GASOLINE when i start it. It's like i have gasoline scented air freshener if im using the fans. When i open the window i can smell it outside as well. So the gasket or whatever might also be screwed quite a bit or just not tightened properly. Either way, it's a 21 year old car from Italy that's been treated not that great.

Just a heads up, money is tight.

I really like how they look aside from the soft top versions. They look pretty silly.

An update on my 1927 model T build/restoration project.

The engine is beginning to actually look like an engine now.

I have sourced a high compression head , which was an accessory of that era.

It will give me about 5 more HP,  it may not sound like a lot but it's 20HP original, making a 25% increase lol.

20210822_193141.thumb.jpg.2480ce898d766a9f2b564b48c83ba550.jpg

I have also disassembled the rear axle/differential, it's reusable except some roller bearings and sleeves. Also babbitt bearing plates are replaced by new in steel.

20210814_213831.thumb.jpg.41ca91c7e70f1221df48de572946fc2a.jpg

I've also restored a set of early model A wire wheels, (the T wire wheels are rare) and sourced adapter plates.

20210807_174255.thumb.jpg.f65490cb3c50b7d07e31c904cdd5a0a5.jpg

I might have a rolling chassis at the end of this year.

CPU: r7 2700x;  GPU: EVGA GTX 980 ti sli; RAM: 16GB DDR4; MoBo: ASUS CH VII HERO x470; PSU: Seasonic Prime 850 Titanium; Case: Be Quiet! Dark Base 900 PRO; SSD: Kingston 120 GB; HDD: 1x 500 GB 1x 2TB 1x 3TB;

That's looking pretty nice. Gonna be ripping the streets with those 25 burly horses. The only issues im thinking of are slopes and gas mileage. Kinda want to see something a bit more than restorations sometimes though. Like just improving on the old designs with new tech and seeing how much better they can be, without making them into a "ricer" of course.
