You're going to have to elaborate here. How did Honda rip off the TVR? Its not like they're the only ones that make a FR, two seater convertible. Also what about the S800, Hondas original two seater convertible. With a 4cyl high revving engine it has more in common with the S2000 than the TVR, infact the S2000 is a spiritual successor to that car  

 

Also I'd LOVE a Crown Vic. They're iconic and in the US probably filthy cheap, but here in Europe we didn't get them  

We got the Mondeo instead, with bumpers as durable as eggshells. You will never EVER see a mk1/2 Mondeo without tape or cracks on the bumper. UK people will know what I mean...

When I owned a TVR 2500, I drove by a Honda dealership when the S2000s came out to see what all the fuss was about. I was stunned just how much they were alike both inside the cockpit and how it handled. Even down to the placement of the crossbar in the driver's footwell.

@Radium_Angel I'll be honest mate I don't see it myself. I'm looking at the two interiors side by side, and apart from a tall transmission tunnel and handbrake placement, they're pretty dissimilar to me. And neither of those are unique qualities; I seem to recall old Elans have a pretty tall/wide trans tunnel too. Would you consider the 2500 to have a good driving position? Possibly come around by them both being developed with the same goal in mind

 

Handling wise, I can see why they might handle similarly but I'd put it down to traits of the body style imho. With a bigger engine I could see the TVR being more prone to understeer, whereas the front-mid S2000's were notorious for snappy oversteer, which was calmed down in later models with suspension revisions.

 

For me there's not enough substance there to call the the TVR 2500 'the original S2000'  But as they say, each to their own though

Model 3 marks end of an era? I thought it was going to be too heavy still but apparently not... (Local autocross, no I didn’t go this last time)

Wow that's an impressive time... I wonder how much weight you can save stripping the interior out of one, that's what I've seen people do when drag racing Teslas....not really any other way to lighten them

probably not much. I doubt its much more than 100 lbs you can shed

On low speed courses like autox, instant torque outperforms the weight disadvantage. Just look at what an R35 can do with a proper handling setup!

 

Even on moderate speed touge, an R35 can keep up with the best of them.

shit the 3rd row seats are 80 pounds for the tahoe. 

not all cars have heavy things. iirc the tesla is pretty well optimized for lightness since it kinda has to be for as much range as possible. So I doubt theres much savings to be had just from stripping the interior

honestly, it seems like that's mainly civics, at least in MN though. Accords seem to be a bit less riced.

I will say one thing about my Accord. It is TIGHT for having 225k on it. my Tundra is of similar mileage, and feels like a piece of junk in comparison.
