Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

lol the remnants of the "oh no the floor mat made the gas pedal stick" event

The real fallout is the small floor mats that exist because of Toyota. I have removed some floor mats I consider dangerous though. The weathertech ones are pretty awful. They curl up on the edges and can interfere with the gas pedal.

I just use OEM carpet mats usually.. dont really care for the rubber ones but it also doesn't snow here so maybe that would change if that were the case.

I've had problems with the carpet anchors breaking though. Really annoying.

The ones in my miata are broken and I have to pull the mat back towards me every now and then.

I bought OEM all seasons, and yeah. The drivers side floor mat is about as big as one square of toilet paper.

They likely used torque sticks. Torque sticks do not torque evenly or to spec.

hmm so now i don't know if the drums or discs are warped. how can i tell which set is warped?

How do your anchors break? all three of mine at home are non broken and they keep them in place, they never slide.

She wants it because of the ac hookup in the glove box. My car has that too. Just need functioning AC.

find where the cold A/C air is routed. Drill holes. make some ducts that go into the glovebox.

well, already looked at the brakes, and they don't seem warped, but after adjusting the drums a little bit, I think my inner tie rod might be shot. there's quite some play on the front passenger tire when it's in the air, and I think the inner tie rod is completely shot, causing it to pulsate while braking.

Yeah, good luck with that, lol. I mean, I agree to an extent, but I just can't see how anything like that could be sustainable, considering just how many thirsty vehicles are out there.

I LOVE many things about ICE's but the truth is; they are very inefficient and "old tech". Electric motors are far more efficient and for daily driving and commercial use, they are the answer for the future. I'm sorry to say it, but it's true. The issue still stands with regards to battery tech, longevity and recharging time, but those are all things that can be developed in time.

When it comes to racing, heck yeah, ICE's all day long. Formula E is just... strange and kinda boring to watch without the "noise". ;)

Yeah electric cars can be quite economical on a lease, battery degradation is a huge issue (that's why there are 5k Nissan leafs) but besides that problem I think that they are great.

I did some homework on used Leafs because I was considering buying one. Funny thing is; most of the battery degredation takes place in the first few years or 100k or so kms. After that the degradation significantly slows down and plateaus. So you could have a Leaf with -15% battery capacity, but it won't drop much more than that in the following years/kms.

The biggest factor on battery degradation is how it's charged. If you charge it slowly (over night) via 120v, you'll have a lot less degradation than if you use quick charges (240v) more frequently.
