Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

hehe it's more exclusive that's what makes it better tasting it's not shared all over the country.

well i don't think mazda was thinking straight with the first gen mazdaspeed 3/6. they had the intercooler mounted right on top of the engine, where, when hot, it can heat soak easily because there's no airflow at all, since the hood had no scoop, thus many people converted to front mount. and torque steer was NOTORIOUS on first gen speed 3s, even when it had an lsd fitted, like it would jerk to one side violently when you ripped the gas. the mazdaspeed 6 didn't have much of an issue because it was awd and delivered some power to the rear wheels.

Gonna be picking up an Evo 8 intercooler for myself when my car is up and running again

You need to rebudget your life.

Here's a good starting point. Act like you make 3/4 (or even half) as much as you actually make.

So when you get a check in; put 1/4-1/2 in a savings account and do not under any circumstances touch it. Learn to live on less than you make. This is gonna mean you're gonna have to spend time waiting for things instead of "I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW!" but you'll learn a lot from it and grow stronger in your ability to make do in tough circumstances

I've been working on it. I've got money in savings. But I'm not touching it. When I say in the red I mean under $250 because that to me is no money.

did a quick google search, apparently it makes only 122hp, so it makes about the same as the c2, but it's probably the transmission and gearing that make the car super dull.

Ah I see, also imagine its set up to be a comfortable family car rather than a fun handling car

Thought I'd share this as I'm sure you guys love catastrophic failures! Well, not a complete disaster. One pushrod on #5 snapped, generally they bend but best guess this one bound up against the guide plate and snapped. #4 piston seems to have leaned out, got really hot, expanded too far and the ring bound up and split the top of the piston. Great fun! Bore is a little bit messed up but it's fixable.

Took delivery of my new ride yesterday. Skoda Octavia VRS TFSI with the DSG auto gearbox. Its the newer 2017/18 facelift model. Absolutely in love with it.

I previously owned the second generation Octavia VRS (Petrol Estate Manual) and felt this is a nice step up.

Its on a company car fleet scheme so only have it for 6 months then swap for something else.

Yeah I'm the same. I'd rather take the cash if they couldn't offer something i wanted.

I almost went for a new Alfa Romeo Gulietta Speciale but someone else booked it before i got the paperwork sorted.

Thinking of a Golf R when i have to hand this one back in December.
