Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Been thinking about the new NSX lately. It sort of fills a spot where it has no real competition (hybrid super car). I just feel that the car is overpriced for what it is, and the interior isn't anything to write home about.

What other cars can you get for a similar price ($200k)? AMG GT R, 911 Turbo, R8, Vantage V12, and even the 570S are all within the price of the new NSX. All of them have an interior that makes you feel a lot more special.

Actually, thinking back. I forgot the car that is the direct competitor to the NSX. It's the BMW i8.

I'd get it over an i8 because the NSX is a bit more usable and looks much better.

Personally at that price range I'd get a GT3, but thats me.

I think if he would incorporate something to prevent it from slipping out from the bottom it would be pretty safe. Safer than death sticks IMO

Drove a 2012 mustang GT. Other than power it was a let down. The older transmission before the updates ford did to it was poo, the clutch feel was almost non existent, the handling also poo, and the engine sounded more like a old pickup truck to me. Think I'll stick with my eco boost as around town driving felt pretty much the same and for spirited driving the extra power was a bit much. Only way I'd buy a mustang with a V8 is if its the older one with the better transmission or 2015 plus after then worked out some of the kinks. Don't know why but it felt like it handled worse then the 03 gt I had in the past. Maybe the extra weight and bigger body are just too much for the older chassis/stock suspension on it.

They say the GT350 trans is worlds ahead of the GT's/ecoboosts trans too.

Maybe theyll use it in the GT next mustang revision who knows.

I dont know never got to drive the gt350 :P. For the price of that car it damn well better have a better transmission then my car. Though the 2011-2018 mustangs from the v6 to the GT all use the same transmission just the models under 2015 didnt get all the updates to it the 2015 models did.

I want to say Borg warner/Tremec T56. Capable of handling 350lb-ft+, Comes in a variety of different cars, Shops are used to doing re-builds/reinforcing them.

Six speeds with decent ratios. Won't say its the best ever made. But its one of the better ones at the very least.

bw_T56.gif

Or the Getrag 420G.

There is a ZF box i see a ton of people swapping into projects but i can't for the life of me figure out the model

The i8 is kinda half the price of the NSX, and nowhere near as fast. R8s, 991 Turbo S's and the Vantage are all some £40-£60k cheaper. GT R is limited run and the 570s is just dull.

NSX is too expensive for what it is performance wise

Needs money for car parts :P

Nissan CD009

they can survive quite the amount of HP and abuse as well :P

and as @techswede said ZF manual 6speed and 5speed out of BMW M series are quite nice as well .... sometimes can be a cheaper replacement to the ones mentioned above
