Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Send some of that rain up to central Ontario. It's been a ridiculously dry and hot summer here...

well normally this doesn't happen here. Usually it rains hard and the road is just wet and carencro (up north) are the only people who get flooded. This time though... man I didn't even know it was possible for it to rain as hard as it did. It like wasnt even raindrops anymore, just water streaming from the sky.

My carencro friends are lucky they missed this storm by a hair... had they got what we got it would of been super bad for them.

My dad was like "thank goodness I got flood insurance" xD

Also thank goodness my dad had to leave work early this morning. Had he not I wouldn't of been able to pull my car in the garage. Maybe it would of been ok if I pulled it up sideways at the top of the hill, but who knows??

Also the mayor of the town ordered that all the roads be closed. So it's actually not even possible for me to leave or my dad to come home right now. Hopefully they open them back up...

With deep inspiration from these cars, i have decided to go with a metallic/pearl yellow and metallic blue coloured scheme on my model car (mostly blue) but i am currently struggeling with finding yellow clear paint for the clear parts (bright pearl yellow rattle can is also not exactlyhate common)

Speaking of stereos, after I get my truck back from the auto body shop for the second time to fix that leak hopefully the last time I need to have the stereo shop figure out why my sub isnt working right. I thought the amp I put in finally died, so I put the one I got from those guys and nothing changed. I've also tried using a different ground for the negative on the amp, and nothing changed, so now its time for me to take it in and let them figure it out. I want to say the amp isn't getting power from the battery if I had to guess. Who knows. They'll fix it.

Is the amp powering on? If so, it's the RCAs to the deck or the wires to the sub. If not, it's not getting power from the battery and/or the remote turn-on wire. Pretty easy to diagnose with a multimeter - the positive should be reading 12V any time, while the remote should be reading 12V whenever the radio is on.

@RevoltTrain i totally forgot i created this cool little prelude in street legal racing. it's not much, just lowered, and fitted with an "acura nsx" (in quotes because it's just a general v6 block that looks and sounds like an nsx)Unlimited344_thumb.jpgUnlimited346_thumb.jpgUnlimited348_thumb.jpgUnlimited353_thumb.jpg

I'd look into getting a roof rack when I get mine, but I feel like the sun roof will hit the roof rack and cause issues. I may look into it some more

That gremlin's face is going to need some reconstructional surgery once this power punch hits it.... (I absolutely love building my dream cars as models, adding in all the things i want and not needing to worry about what the purists are going to say, not that i would care if i ever built one of these cars)

Ps: the starlet started life as a model car but i couldnt find a stock two door kp61 model car so i just went for the real thing when i had the opportunity.

agreed.  he doesn't BS or fanboi over anything, takes everything as it is and presents it.  I just wish he did more...

watching his build videos is a big reason why I ended up in a Miata and not an FRS/BRZ

It's too aggressive for me really, I actually am not a fan of most really aggressive front ends on cars. Like the ND Miata and Hawkeye

My miatas speakers are terrible. They are very muddled yet the highs are too high and when you turn both down it still just doesn't sound right.... I got it as good as I could get it but it's meh at best. So much for being "premium Bose audio" lol

but you know I'm not a crazy music person in a car at least so I just need something to fill the background noise so I don't go crazy on longer trips.(esp since miatas just like most cheap cars are kinda noisy) And it works for that. So I can't complain.

Agreed, speakers are horrible.  I also have the premium bose system.  I'm not a music person, but I'm a watch TV shows and movies while doing boring driving person.  and yeah, the speakers suck, at higher volumes they start distorting like crazy.  and the crappy part is the bose system uses some stupid 8" speaker, there are only like 2-3 options out there to replace them with something aftermarket, and they're all expensive.

I need to get off my ass and do my car pc thing, I'll prolly force fit some 5x8's in there with an external amp.  it'll still be cheaper than the 8" options out there.
